Hello friends. My name is Professor Ayşe Türksoy Işım. I am the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Faculty of Sport Sciences. I graduated from Marmara University. I also got my master's and doctorate degrees from Marmara University. In our department, we train physical education and sports teachers. We provide training for 4 years in the department. Besides those 4 years, if the student decides so, as an optional preparation, we provide foreign language education for an additional year. We provide courses in 3 fields: occupational field knowledge, general culture and field education. In field education, besides theoretical courses, we also provide courses on sports branches. We have a great sports facility. What you see right now is our indoor basketball hall. We have a gymnasium, 2 multi-purpose gyms, open areas for orienteering, indoor and outdoor football field, table tennis hall, pilates studio, fitness center and a laboratory to conduct studies on sportive performances. We have an internship program in our department program. Our students apply for an internship in the fourth grade for 2 semesters. They can do these internships in public or private institutions. We arrange the internship places. You have the right to choose among the institutions we will offer you. As for the education opportunities abroad, we have Erasmus and Mevlana Programs. There are 5 countries you can go to for Erasmus right now. The Czech Republic and Poland require English language proficiency. Apart from that, you can also go to Germany, France and Spain. With the Mevlana Program, you can go to any community from the Turkic Republics for 1 or 2 semesters. You can apply to for the Erasmus program a minimum of three and maximum of 12 months. During this time, you will also be able to take advantage of some scholarships provided by the institution. As for the sports organizations held here, we had a catchball. All faculties participate. Apart from this, in our institution there is a unit called the Sports Association. With this unit, you can compete in different teams, with different faculties representing the university. Another thing that students ask is where they can work after graduation. Our graduates can work in public institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, as a physical education teacher in private institutions under the control of the Ministry of National Education, as an instructor or trainer in sports clubs, and as a trainer in municipalities. Apart from these, they can work as specialist trainers in the central and provincial organizations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Or you can set up your own sports facilities and work there. I do not think you will encounter any problems with the courses. If such a situation occurs, if you have difficulties, there are one or two faculty representative that you can ask for help.
