About Jordan Program
Peace Be Upon You!
My name is Ahsen Buşra Babaoğlu. I am a second year student in the Islamic and Religious Studies Department.
I would like to explain to you about our program in Jordan that we takes place in the last section of our preparatory school. How do we go to Jordan? What do we do there?
Our university provides for most of our traveling expenses. For example, they paid for our plane tickets and other traveling expenses. They also gave us a scholarship payment every month for the place we stayed.
From a culture, educational, and linguisticly, perspective, great activities and profitable classes were being organized for us. We took at Jordan University. Our university has a wonderful agreement with Jordan university. They provide us great classes, ue of their library, quality professors, and teachers. At the same time, there were expert teachers in Islamic studies. They gave us private lessons everyday in groups and one-on-one. The classes we took were: Tenets of the Faith, Islamic Law, Jordan Society, and Palestinian History.
The goal of all of our classes were to study the Islamic Sciences while learning how to speak Arabic better.
We really did benefit from all of our classes. These classes provided us with a broader and better understanding of Islam from a scientific perspective.
It was a good beginning for our studies in the science of religion while at the same time improving our skills in Arabic.
In addition to our classes, there were also other activities and events organized for us. These activities were directed by our teachers. Every week, we visited somewhere or with someone. As these trips were organized, we used them to learn new words by writing and tried to use the Arabic we knew at the time. We also had two other homework assignments.
- Firstly: We had to organize all the new words we were learning in a notebook. Everyday, we had to learn 40 new words and write them down.
- Secondly: We had to write a report about Jordan. Everyday we would write a brief report about Jordan.
In addition, we created a form with questions about Turkey on it. We went out into the streets and talked to people about it using our Arabic. It was really fun and a valuable experience.
We did reports, question forms, took notes as we learned, and other things. When we returned to our university, we shared our experiences with our classmates and professors.
Even though the Jordanian people are a different people and society, we were able to established relationships with people. These relationships expanded our thoughts and understanding of them.
Lastly, I would like to talk about the best things now. We toured many wonderful touristic sites. Jordan is a beautiful country with many wonderful historical and touristic sites to see.
Through these tours, we were able to get to know Jordan as a tourist.
It was a privilege and a great blessing to have this experience. I saw Jordan as a blessing. I saw the energy in people.
In the life of a Muslim, he needs blessings to do the work of God.
Fortunately, I hoping that everyone has this blessing.
I feel very lucky to be a student at this university.
We are waiting for you here. Good Luck.
