Hello, I am Professor Settar Muş. I am a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at OSTIM Technical University. Industrial Engineering is an engineering discipline that works to install, design, operate efficiently and that updates these systems according to the conditions of the present day. Some of the courses given in our department are as follows: With the Operations Research course, our students gain the ability to design, model, develop, implement and interpret all the decision problems faced by enterprises, institutions and organizations while continuing their economic activities. Our students, in the production planning course; they gain the ability to use various scientific techniques and related software to design, plan and maintain the system planning they need in the activities carried out by institutions and organizations, and the activities carried out related to the correct distribution of resources. The System Analysis and Design and Data Management Systems course gives our students the opportunity to participate in the information management processes of enterprises in addition to the ability to perform integrated analysis. OSTIM Technical University has computer laboratories where various software tools are taught and applied with physics, chemistry, basic computer drawing and programming.Within our university, we have a Lean Manufacturing Laboratory especially for our departmental students to improve their application practice. OSTİm Technical University Industrial Engineering Department students take real practice courses in enterprises 1 day a week starting from the 1st grade. Applied training, which continues in this way until the 3rd grade, continues in the 4th grade 3 days a week. Thus, our students graduate from our school as engineers with 4 years of experience. Our students continue their graduation projects with real practice in enterprises. Under the supervision of faculty members with industry experience of our university and together with their employees in enterprises, they carry out the whole of analyzing, modeling, solution method development, implementation and interpretation activities in the enterprise. Our students have the opportunity to study abroad at a wide range of universities in European countries within the scope of student exchange programs such as Erasmus. Various trainings are organized for our students by OSTIM Technical University Career Planning and On-The-Job Training Center. International Culture Day is held every year at our university. Our students regularly participate in Teknofest competitions with their friends from different departments and faculties. After graduation, our students have the opportunity to work in a wide range of production and service sectors, as well as government institutions. Especially recently, industrial engineering is very needed in terms of the expansion and development of the logistics and distribution sector and the planning of operational activities in this field. With the developments in the field of informatics, industrial engineering applications are very needed in data analytics. Industrial engineering has also become a sought-after profession in this field. Candidates who will prefer the Department of Industrial Engineering should first examine the historical development of the concept of industry and choose what they will work on. Students should be in constant contact with businesses in order to have the opportunity to put the knowledge they have learned in theory into practice during their student life.
