Department of Computer Engineering

Hello I am Professor Serhan Dağtaş from OSTIM Technical University Computer Engineering Department. Our department aims to raise graduates who can produce useful information to themselves, their environment, and the organization in which they are positioned. In addition, our department aims to train computer engineers who can contribute to various engineering problems in the fields of solution and modeling and take part in application-oriented software and hardware projects in accordance with an industrial university mission. In addition to basic courses such as Physics and Mathematics, algorithms and basic programming courses covering hardware and software fields are given in our Computer Engineering Department. In addition to these courses, courses are given that can provide expertise in fields such as data science, artificial intelligence and robotics in accordance with the latest trends. In addition to the laboratory facilities we provide in basic courses such as Physics and Mathematics in the 1st grade, we have computer laboratories that we use in hardware and software courses. In addition, we have an electronic circuit systems laboratory where applied training of electronic systems is provided. In addition, we have the facilities to provide server services for studies and course activities in software and data sciences. Providing a hands-on education is an issue that OSTİm Technical University focuses on as an industrial university. As a university, we offer our students an education program intertwined with industry and business in a model that can be considered innovative. As part of this, we aim to ensure that our students have gained experience in full-time capacity in a period of about 1 year when they graduate. We do this with a model that we regularly add to the curriculum from the first grade. Thanks to this model, our students have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned from 1st to senior year and when they graduate, they join the business world as experienced engineer candidates. OSTİm Technical University, which has an international quality, stands out with its international experience and opportunities to both its international students and faculty members and its students in Turkey. In addition to taking part in programs such as Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi, we aim to bring international experience to our students through our bilateral collaborations with international academic institutions. We continue to pursue these opportunities through our collaborations in many continents and countries. Graduates of our department are trained competently in both hardware and software fields. Therefore, job opportunities can be found in both areas after graduation. As an industrial university, our students who graduate with experience can take part in both national or international organizations operating in hardware related organizations and in various industrial and software projects. In fact, our students can get the opportunity to find and be employed by the projects they carry out within the scope of their workplace experience as interns while they are still students. The Computer Engineering department is a very fast-changing field. My most important advice to students is to be open to renewing themselves. The experiences we've all had throughout our careers confirm that. We have to be open to constantly reinventing ourselves. Many of our students can observe these innovations here from first to senior year. They are witnessing rapid change in the field of software and other fields. They also need to renew themselves in this area. We recommend that they should be open to renewing themselves. We recommend that our students be open to such innovations and developments in their postgraduate career plans. In addition, thanks to the cooperation with the industry, our students will have a very important industrial experience when they graduate. In addition, the fact that our university is easily accessible as a location is an important advantage especially for our students. We wish the candidates all the best.
