Faculty of Medicine

Hello, my name is Özden and I am a 4th year student at Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine. I will now give you some information concerning the Faculty. Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine was established in 2002 to train qualified and modern physicians in the field. The courses in our Faculty of Medicine are given in two stages—basic medicine courses and clinical courses. Histology, Pathology, Physiology, are examples of basic medicine courses and Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics are examples of clinical courses. 10 laboratories and 1 central research laboratory are located within the faculty in order to provide education to the students of the Faculty of Medicine. We can give laboratories such as the Vocational Training Skill Laboratory, the Anatomy Laboratory, the Histology Laboratory, the Pathology Laboratory as a few examples of these. As practical training, we do internships in clinics in the fourth and fifth grades. After graduating from the medical school, we can work as a general practitioner and if we want to specialize in any area, we can choose this area by entering the Specialty Examination in Medicine. Being a doctor has been my dream ever since I was a child. I have never thought of any other profession as long as I can remember. I want to be a doctor because I feel like I belong to the profession and want to fulfil this dream. I knew that Dr. Rıdvan Ege Hospital was a much-preferred hospital because of the qualified physician staff and Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine was among my choices because I thought that studying at the Faculty of Medicine within this hospital would add a lot to me in a personal sense. When I attended the open days of the university and spoke with the faculty, seeing the excitement and encouragement of the academics in terms of training new physicians made me want make coming to Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine a priority. Throughout my education, faculty members have supported and assisted me in all ways—whether in terms of their lectures or their efforts to find a solution to our problems, they do everything possible to make this process easier for us. This is a great opportunity that most medical students don't get and we have this chance. After graduation, I aim to become a good physician. However, as we all know, at the end of this training process, we will choose an area to specialize in. So, once I have successfully passed this exam I aim to specialize in my chosen field. You should choose Ufuk University for its educational staff who are able to support you in every area. I wish every success to those friends taking the entrance exam.
