Department of Economics

Hello, this is Cengizhan Artaç.I'm a fourth-year student in the department of economics. The department of Economics provides information about the problems that countries or companies may face and how to seek solutions to these problems. If we look at the meaning of the word itself, economics is a branch of science that explores how it can distribute limited resources despite unlimited human needs, while ensuring maximum benefit. The Department of Economics provides education within the Faculty of Political Sciences in the Block B of the Esenboğa Campus. The department offers courses in the fields of economics, finance and law. Our main courses are Micro and Macro Economics, as well as Development Economics, Monetary Theory and Finance Theories. We have a library that is open for 24 hours during the week and on the weekends. In addition, there are social facilities where we can participate in various activities and a conference hall belonging to our faculty. There is no compulsory internship in our department. But students do have the opportunity to do a voluntary internship. When we graduate from the department, we have the opportunity to work in managerial positions in private companies in Turkey and abroad, as well as in public institutions and organizations. I chose this department because the Department of Economics has wide range of job prospects. I chose Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University primarily to be in an international university in Turkey which ranks among the highest in terms of hosting international students, as well as because of our instructors who have completed their masters and higher education at top level universities in Turkey and abroad. During my education, I benefitted the most from the library and the teaching staff. The library and teaching staff were the facilities I benefited from the most during my education. The library stands out among the facilities offered to us because it provides 24-hour access and its resources appeal to a wide audience. In addition, the access we have to our faculty members and the opportunities offered by our teachers to share their experiences with us and guide us are very useful. After graduation, I want to take the necessary exams and become a district governor. To the students considering this department, I advise you to give importance to English because the education in our department is 100% in English, and at the same time, since there is a wide range of job prospects, I recommend that they have a wide perspective and act accordingly. I wish success to my fellow students who will choose the Department of Economics in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
