Department of Tourism Management

Hello, I'm Anıl Yılmaz. I am a student at Anadolu University, Faculty of Tourism, Department of Tourism Management. The Department of Tourism Management offers a 4-year undergraduate program. Our faculty is located in Yunus Emre Campus, which is the central campus of Anadolu University. The main purpose of the Department of Tourism Management is to train qualified personnel for the tourism sector. There are many theoretical and applied courses in the Department of Tourism Management. At the beginning of these, we have courses such as General Business, Accounting, Economics and Statistics in accordance with the Business course. Apart from this, we have courses such as Tourism Sociology, Tourism Psychology, Hotel Management, Travel Management with a focus more on the tourism sector. At the same time, there are many vocational courses where students can improve themselves. Here we can choose among more than 100 vocational courses that we are interested in. We can also improve ourselves by taking courses such as Computerized Front Office Management, Computerized Housekeeping Management, Airline Management, and Tourism Types. There are computer laboratories in our faculty for the students of the Tourism Management Department. Here we have applied computer lessons. As students of the Department of Tourism Management, we can do our internships in places such as 4- and 5-star hotels, holiday villages, 1st class restaurants, A class travel agencies, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and congress centers. After graduating from the Department of Tourism Management, we can work in the accommodation sector and the food and beverage sector, which are the main branches of tourism. At the same time, we can work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and provincial directorates, congress centers and organization companies. Apart from that, thanks to the academic education we receive here for 4 years, we can continue our careers as academicians. In addition, thanks to the theoretical and applied courses we take here, we are able to establish our own business. Tourism management was a department I was curious about and was interested in. I believed I could succeed here. Because of my own personality and character, I chose this department because I thought that I could be successful after graduation. The qualified academic staff of Anadolu University, the opportunities offered by the university, the fact that Eskişehir is a student city and the location of Anadolu University are the most important reasons for me to choose this place. After graduation, I aim to start a job in a corporate place and develop my own skills and knowledge to advance in my career.
