Hello, I'm Professor Tuğrul Oğuzhan. I am a Professor in the Department of Aviation Management at OSTIM Technical University. Let me explain aviation management as follows: Let's think of a huge sector with high dynamism, which has a large share in the world economy. Aviation management is to be able to take part in this sector. To be able to take part in both operational duties and various administrative tasks such as finance, accounting and logistics in aviation sector units such as airlines, airports and cargo companies. In addition, it is to be able to create solutions to the problems of the sector with modern management techniques and a strategic approach. It is essentially a concept of science in which three sciences are combined. Aviation Management; it is a science formed by combining management, business and aviation knowledge. As OSTIM Technical University, our understanding of aviation management is predominantly to provide training for applications as we are a 3rd generation university. As a department, we aim to train graduates who will experience, live and run to success in the sector in a very good way. In this context, we aim to provide all kinds of educational support to our graduates in order to establish and finalize our goal. In the Aviation Management Department, a wide range of courses such as Airline Management, Aviation Finance, Communication, Navigation Systems are taught in both business administration and aviation fields. With these courses, our students are taught aviation rules and gain the necessary knowledge they need to be successful in civil aviation. At the same time, education support in management, business and aviation is provided by providing the necessary opportunities for our students to be trained for future tasks, in a simulation environment, with web-based training and workplace applications training. In addition, since the beginning of the academic year, our students are taught courses such as Introduction to University Life, Business Practices and Entrepreneurship Projects. It is aimed at helping our students adapt to their working life thanks to these courses. OSTIM Technical University is a university established in the heart of industry as a 3rd generation university. Thus, our university carries out its activities within an ecosystem created for students, academicians and industrial units. Of course, one of the advantages of this ecosystem is technocracy and technoparks used by the university. During the academic year, many different studies related to aviation management can be conducted in these Technocities and Technoparks. In the same way, we have computer laboratories for practical and computer simulation courses in our training program such as Strategic Management, Airline Fleet Network Management, and Navigation Systems. There is no compulsory internship in our undergraduate program. Instead, workplace education and workplace experience courses are offered in our university from the 2nd semester of the 1st grade in order to provide a better experience. These courses are held 1 day a week from the 2nd semester of the 1st grade. In the 8th semester, it is performed all days of the week. The Erasmus Higher Education Declaration made by our university in 2020 has been accepted by the European Directorate of Youth Culture and Education. In this context, both student and academic exchange programs will be launched in the 2021-2022 academic year. This will allow our university to carry out various projects in European universities. Graduates of OSTİm Technical University Department of Aviation Management are very lucky to find a job. Because they will have the opportunity to prove themselves and work in various companies with the Workplace Applications and Workplace Experience training that we will do during the period. In this sense, airlines will be able to work in the finance, accounting and logistics departments at airports and cargo companies, both operationally as ground services officers or flight operations controllers, and by taking administrative roles. Since they will receive preparatory training and the training will be carried out in a foreign language, the opportunities to find work in the international environment will be very high. The project studies of our students and all kinds of projects they produce for themselves will contribute to the opportunities to find work. Our department is a department that aims to capture dynamism and to provide a modern and high quality education to all our graduates in the aviation sector. We consider the ability of all our graduates to find work in a national or international environment as our criteria for success. In this sense, we will make every effort to realize this goal both within OSTİm and with practical training and workplace training in different fields during the period. One of the best opportunities that OSTİm Technical University will provide us in terms of aviation management is that the education to be given is in a foreign language and our graduates can have many different job opportunities. We have a Continuous Education Center within our university that is really high quality and serves to improve education. Our students will be able to increase their ability to find a job with pilot training provided in this center or certifications in different aviation fields. In addition, they will be able to achieve a higher satisfaction by increasing the quality of the education they receive. Prospective students who will apply to the Aviation Management Department should want to prove themselves in the field of aviation, in the field of business administration and in the field of management. Foreign language education is of great importance in order to be successful in the international environment, and we want to realize this as our departmental goal. In this regard, I can advise all prospective students to improve their language skills and to make efforts in this context. Another recommendation would be to keep the aviation spirit and its dynamism alive and aim to graduate with this dynamism. OSTIM Technical University is a 3rd generation entrepreneurial university. It is located in the center of an industry located in the heart of Turkey. In this sense, it is a university that wants to keep the applied education alive. All our students will experience this dynamism from the moment they start our department. Of course, in the dream of every university student, there is more to proving themselves, achieving something, being able to produce and being useful to society in this respect. OSTIM Technical University is a university where our students can realize these dreams. Our capital city, Ankara, is a beautiful city; it is a student city. OSTIM Technical University was established in an environment where our students can carry out the best practical education they will receive. In addition to all this, the conveniences provided by Ankara, the facilities provided by KYK (Credit and Dormitories Institution), the multiplicity of other housing opportunities, the ease of transportation to our university, the presence of a metro station about a hundred meters from our university and thus easy access to our university from all over the city seems to be an advantage. But our most important advantage and the greatest contribution we will make are the achievements of our students in the national and international environment by turning the knowledge we have acquired into production with the projects we have created. The greatest contribution we will make to our students will be to experience this success together. Therefore, we invite all students to our university in order to experience this success. In the Department of Aviation Management, we dream of meeting with all our students by stating that our hope is in the youth and that the future is in the skies, as Atatürk pointed out.
