Civil Air Transport Management Program

Hello, I'm Nejdet Murat Danış. I am a 2nd year student at Istanbul Topkapı University Civil Air Transport Management Program. Our program is located in Kazlıçeşme Campus at Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul. The aim of the program is to train individuals in terms of airport ground handling and passenger services. At the same time, students who have completed our program can work in both cargo and operations departments. The aim of the Civil Air Transport Management Program is to train skilled individuals for the airport, ground services, and operational . The purpose of training these individuals is very important in terms of the prestige of the airline company and passengers' comfort. In general, we receive professional English education for three terms. In professional English, we first receive grammar training. In the following semesters, we receive aviation training in its entirety. In addition, we take the Aviation Fundamentals and Terminology course. This course is a course that is dominated by the English terminology. We take the Ground and Passenger Services course, which is the heart of our department. In this section, it covers the boarding process, especially how we will deal with the passengers arriving at the airport. The purpose of our Air Cargo Transportation course is about how and in what way all cargoes will be transported. We also have a Team Resource Management course. This concept emerged after the pilot accidents in the 1970s. The aim of this course is to teach how aviation is a team work and what to do with this team. Also there is an Aviation Legislation course. Together with the courses we take, we see all the organizations related to aviation. We take courses within the scope of what these organizations do and the content of their practices.
We have a Civil Aviation Workshop in our school. Here, we take the Aviation Safety course. Civil Air Transport Management Program has an internship agreement with Pegasus Airlines. Student interns do their internship in July and August. Pegasus also provides employment within its own organs. The business areas of the Civil Air Transport Management Program are quite wide. There are sectors such as Ground and Passenger Services, Operations Officer. These sectors have job opportunities. The main reason for me to choose the Civil Air Transport Management Program is the wide range of jobs. The biggest reason for me to choose Istanbul Topkapı University is undoubtedly the high quality of education. Before making my university choices, I came to Kazlıçeşme Campus. As a result of my face-to-face meetings with the professors here, I preferred Istanbul Topkapı University, thinking that I could improve myself with our competent academics in this field. I use the library the most while studying in the program. Since our library also has materials in the field of aviation, it contributes to our improvement in this field. My primary goal after graduation is to work in passenger services first. After that, I want to work in higher units. My suggestions about my program to the candidates who will prefer our university are as follows: First of all, our professors have a wide business network. While studying here, you have the opportunity to have a job. It makes a great contribution to students studying in this program. You can have job opportunities even when you are a student in the first year. At the same time, this business network can be expanded further with the internship agreement with Pegasus Airlines. In this way, you can reach a better position in the industry. That is why I definitely recommend Istanbul Topkapı University.
