Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme

Hello, my name is Mehmet Kadri Yüksel from the Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme. I will now give you some information about this Programme. The Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme trains competent personnel that carry out chemical studies and analyses in Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Molecular Biology laboratories; who routinely provide services and participate in the necessary research which manages all kinds of techniques used in this research, as competent individuals, reviewing and evaluating these tests and analysis. The program is based at Ufuk University’s Balgat Campus. In general, the courses offered are basic medical courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. Also, practical and theoretical training provide in courses such as Basic Laboratory Applications, Special Investigations in Biochemistry and Pathology. Course applications are carried out in the laboratories specific to each class on Balgat Campus. In addition to basic medical courses laboratories, the course also Offers lectures in Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Hematology Laboratories and the Blood Bank. Our internship and graduation projects are as follows: Summer internship is 30 working days at the end of the first year. Students who want to study at Ufuk University can carry out their summer internships in clinical laboratories such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Hematology in the Dr. Rıdvan Ege Hospital or other contracted hospitals in Ankara. I want to work at my school. When we graduate from this program, we can find employment in state hospitals, private hospitals and clinics, analysis laboratories, institutions and organisations engaged in research and development in medicine and in the public sector. I chose the Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme because it has a wide range
of employability, because I enjoy making research, and because I want to be beneficial to others in the field of healthcare. I chose Ufuk University because it is a university that has developed and proved itself in the health and education sector and has a solid education and broad scholarship opportunities. There is a lot of practical training in our school. I think the training in hospital laboratories is very good. I also try to make use of the library, the service facilities, the sports halls, the events and the conferences. After graduation, I would like to advance my vocational education and development by improving myself in the field of biochemistry and microbiology. What I would say to the candidates of Ufuk University who choose this programme is this: Ufuk University is a fully-fledged university in the health sector. It has well-equipped and professional academic staff that provide a solid education. In Ufuk University, students receive prizes and gifts in return for theirachievements. For example, you can get a scholarship and a ‘success discount’ for your accomplishments in a course. Ufuk University has a campus in the centre of Ankara and has the necessary and sufficient equipment for educational applications and social activities.
