School of Nursing

Hello friends, my name is Melike Tepe and I am a 4th year student at Ufuk University School of Nursing. The School of Nursing is located on the Balgat Campus in the centre of Ankara. We are placed through the central entrance exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placing Centre. The aim of our school is to produce nurses who are able to work as team members coming from different disciplines, who can think scientifically and critically—based on Atatürk's principles and reforms—and to inculcate ethical values and leadership qualities in them. In our school, we take basic medical courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Physiology, Nursing Principles, Internal Medicine, Surgical Nursing, Gynecology, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Public Health Nursing. We have 3 skill laboratories here where we apply our basic vocational courses—such as Surgical Diseases Nursing, Gynaecology and Internal Medicine. At the end of the first and second year, we undertake a three-week summer internship. After graduation, we can work in other health institutions in fields such as nursing, nurse managing, or research nursing. In case we want to pursue a career in professional terms, we are able to receive postgraduate education both in our own university and at other universities. The nursing department was one that I wanted since I was a child because I love people and want to be of service to others. This is why I chose this department. I chose this university because I believed that I could receive the best education in terms of nursing. Our school provides us with many opportunities. I made use of facilities such as the 24/7 open library, the gym and the swimming pool. After graduation, I would like to continue my career as an academic by pursuing a graduate education. Dear friends, we are studying here according to European Union nursing education standards. You should choose this university if you want a university in the centre of Ankara, where transportation is easy and the academic staff are competent.
