Deparment of Health Management

I'm Professor Doctor Süleyman Dündar. I am working as the Head of Health Management Department of Health Sciences Faculty of Izmir Bakırçay University. In the Department of Health Management, there are courses on basic sciences, basic health information and management. We carry out our program with a curriculum that will provide the equipment that can perform the management functions needed today such as Health Economics, Health Institutions Management, Hospital Management, Artificial Intelligence Applications in Health, Health Information Systems. There are application laboratories within the Faculty of Health Sciences. There are also laboratories in other departments of our faculty. Since the Department of Health Management fulfills a more managerial function, we organize training programs with our stakeholders to address the problems encountered in health management, inviting the managers of health institutions to our conference halls. Students of the Department of Health Management may be subject to optional internships. In the curriculum, we have practical applications in which they compulsorily monitor and apply practices in health institutions. In the 7th and 8th semesters, our students go to health institutions, participating in management functions there, making observations and reporting them. Students of the Department of Health Management, as in other departments, can attend at least one-semester training programs in the relevant departments of the universities abroad, with which we have agreements within the scope of Erasmus Learning and Internship Mobility. Candidates who are successful in the assessment of foreign language proficiency can complete their education at a university abroad for at least one semester. International Health Management Congress is held in the field of health management. We take part in this organization, which takes place with the participation of academics and students who provide training in this area in universities in Turkey.
Graduates of the Department of Health Management can be employed in public institutions and their health institutions, as well as private health institutions. We recommend that all students who will choose the Department of Health Management, and indeed all friends who will choose a university, first seek support from experts in this field.
