Hello, I am Çetin Yaman, Head of Recreation Department in Faculty of Sport Sciences at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. Recreation is a very complex science that supports people in spending their time in the most efficient way, except for compulsory activities such as eating and drinking, sleeping and working. The Recreation Department is located in a large sports island in the Esentepe Campus of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences within the Faculty of Sport Sciences. Our department has 2 large sports halls, 1 large running track and football field, which are used commonly by our faculty, and many laboratories and halls to be used for various purposes. The curriculum of the Department of Recreation is built on three fundamentals: basic competence courses, vocational competence courses and finally courses that will support general intellectual development. Basic proficiency courses include courses such as Training Knowledge, Anatomy, and Physiology, which provide support in the field of sports sciences. Professional competence courses are courses focused on recreation sciences that include Therapeutic Recreation, Industrial Recreation or the relationship of recreation with other disciplines, which will provide you with the equipment you need to have specifically for the Recreation Department. Other courses are Turkish Language, History of Revolution, Sociology and Psychology, which will provide our students with intellectual insights. Our students make extensive use of Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana programs, just like the other students of our university and faculty. In student exchange programs, our school and especially our department is a place that welcomes a large number of students. One of the most important features that distinguishes both our faculty and our university from other universities is our 7+1 education model. By combining our internship programs and offer an internship that will increase the professional experience of students within the framework of the 7+1 program in the 8th semester, the last period of academic life, and we provide our students with an advantage in terms of employment when they graduate. Recreation Department students have a wide range of employment opportunities when they graduate. Friends who graduate from the Recreation Department are employed in industrial recreation, educational recreation, public recreation, therapeutic recreation and similar fields.
