Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Hello, my name is Nilay BULDUK. I am a 4th year student at Izmir Bakırçay University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.The electrical and electronic engineering department aims to develop, test and supervise the design of electrical equipment such as radar, electric motors, communication systems, navigation systems or power generation equipment. Electrical and electronic engineers also help in the design of automobiles and airplanes. Our department is located in Seyrek Campus in Menemen District of Izmir. The general courses offered in our department are; introduction to electricity - electronics and ethics course in the 1st year, waves, signals and systems, circuit theory course in the 2nd year, electrical machines, automatic control power systems courses in the 3rd year and graduation project, system design, internship and elective courses in the 4th year. There are basically two laboratories in the field of electrical and electronics engineering in our school. One of them is the circuit theory laboratory, which we are currently in, and the second is the electrical laboratory, where electrical machines are mainly studied. As internship programs in our department of electrical and electronics engineering, internships are provided to students from companies with which our school has an agreement. In addition, for the vocational training course in the enterprise that we take to finish the school, students are also provided internship opportunities from the companies with which the school has an internship quota. Students complete the school with the course they take. After graduating from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, you have the opportunity to work in high-voltage areas such as construction and automation in the field of electricity. In the field of electronics, it is possible to work on card design, circuit design, hardware and software. One of the reasons why I prefer the department of electrical and electronics engineering is that there are quite a lot of job opportunities. Other reasons are that it is a department that is open to self-improvement in software or different departments. One of the reasons why I chose Izmir Bakırçay University was that Izmir is a city that is much more fun and open to more activities for a student. Secondly, our school is much closer to vacation resorts and entertainment areas. At the same time, the fact that our university is constantly developing itself in the field of health, technology and artificial intelligence is among the reasons for my preference. Among the opportunities I benefit the most while studying at Izmir Bakırçay University, I benefit from the fact that the communities created in our school offer us the opportunity to work adequately in our field and the opportunity to communicate easily with our professors. Among my post-graduation goals, I want to develop myself in the field of software. One of the reasons for this is that electrical and electronics engineers also have a department that is open to developing themselves in software. As another option, I plan to develop myself in the automotive field through the electric vehicle team currently in our school. Among my recommendations to the candidates who will choose our university and our department, I recommend that they prefer to specialize in a field that they feel comfortable with. This is because our department is a very comprehensive department. Therefore, it has many options. Rather than trying to learn everything in this field, trying to specialize in one field will be the most beneficial option for them. I wish success to my friends who will take the university exam.
