Department of Sports Management

Hello everyone, I am Melisa ULMAN. I am a third-year student in the Department of Sports Management at Balıkesir University, Faculty of Sports Sciences. The aim of our department is to educate competent, open-minded, productive sports managers and researchers that our country needs, in line with global developments. We have three groups of courses: basic courses, specialized courses, and applied courses. These courses include subjects such as basketball, swimming, football, handball, sports tourism, sports anatomy, and physiology. Our faculty has a computer and physiology laboratory, where various sports performance measurement devices are available. We have multipurpose halls where practical courses are conducted, including an athletics track, basketball court, open and indoor football fields, and tennis courts. Prior to graduation, we undergo internships for professional experience. Additionally, we have the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with scientific methods through research project courses before graduation. We can work in various public institutions and organizations, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports. With a pedagogical formation certificate, we can work as physical education teachers in private and public schools. I chose this department because I plan to be involved in sports management. I chose Balıkesir University for its convenient location, peaceful environment, easy commute, and proximity to major cities. Our university has a competent academic staff and offers practical courses. It also provides facilities such as open and indoor football fields, tennis courts, and basketball halls that students can benefit from. I am considering obtaining a pedagogical education for a career as a physical education teacher. Additionally, I aim to pursue an academic career. I recommend students who want to benefit from social activities, the knowledge and expertise of our esteemed professors, and improve themselves in the field of sports to choose Balıkesir University, Faculty of Sports Sciences.
