Armutlu Vocational School
I am Lecturer Serhan Mantoğlu. Since 2011, I have been working in different administrative and academic positions at Armutlu Vocational School. Our vocational school is located in the Armutlu district and is located in the region called Tavşantepe location. The district which is in the middle of nature is dedicated to providing students with a beautiful education life and activities. Food Technology, Food Quality Control and Analysis, Aquaculture Processing Technology programs are under the Department of Food Processing within the Armutlu Vocational School. We also have the Logistics Program under Management Organization Department, Public Relations and Promotion Program under The Department of Marketing and Advertising. Tourism and Hotel Management Programs under the Hotel Restaurant and Catering Services Department are actively continuing their education programs. We also have a Fisheries Program that was previously active and does not currently recruit students. Our teachers in our vocational school are competent and experienced in their fields and can help our students anytime they need. There are food analysis, food microbiology, histology and hematology, food processing laboratories within the Armutlu Vocational School, especially for the students of the Department of Food Processing. The laboratory applications and workshops of the theoretical courses of our students in this department are carried out in the relevant fields. In addition, these laboratories are used for academic activities. By including our students in the academic activities carried out here, it allows our students to gain experience. In addition, the Dairy Products Application Unit approved by Yalova Agriculture and Forestry Directorate operates within our university. This is a production unit which has the necessary approvals for production, just like the companies in the sector. Within the scope of applied courses, our students take part in all stages of production of dairy products such as buttermilk, yogurt and cheese by carrying out practical applications of course activities in this unit. In addition, our application laboratory is being prepared for the Tourism and Hotel Management Program. A computer laboratory, library, study hall that we use for course applications, and a conference hall that we use for the career days and activities of our students is also located within our vocational school.
Students who graduated from the Logistics Program can be employed in customs clearance, storage companies, ship agencies, logistics enterprises in the regions where the ports are located, foreign trade, financing and transportation departments. Students who graduate from the Public Relations and Recognition Program can work in municipalities, consulting firms, advertising agencies, media organizations, event companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as all public and private sector companies with public relations departments. They can be employed in the front desk, reception, floor services, restaurant sections in hotels and all sorts of units. They can also work in the public service sector, such as in the ministry. Armutlu Vocational School has a young, dynamic, determined and experienced academic and administrative staff. Our faculty members teach a lot from their experience to be able to prepare the students for the future. With the support of our academic staff and strong infrastructure in our vocational school, we offer our students all the opportunities for their future. We think that we provide all the necessary benefits for the students in our vocational school. In addition, Armutlu Vocational School offers our students both a great program and a great environment intertwined with nature and the sea in Armutlu district, which is located in the most beautiful place in Marmara. Our university is a young and dynamic university and is student-oriented and open to self-development and progress both academically and socioculturally. Although our university is located in the not so busy side of Marmara, it is close to big cities such as Kocaeli, Bursa and Istanbul. We are also preferred by many international students. Before they make their choices after taking the exam, they should not forget that these choices are important for their future, that their own lives will develop according to the choices they will make after the exam, and that this choice is crucial. As the academic and administrative staff of Armutlu Vocational School, we always tell our students who choose us that we will give all the help we can and that we are with them at every point in their education life, social life and in their work life after graduation and we will support them at all stages, and at this point we want to remind them again that they can get help from us at any point they need. I wish success to students who will come to Armutlu Vocational School.
Compulsory summer internship practice is carried out for our students who are educated in our vocational school so they can graduate. In the summer internship, our students are in contact with our departmental teachers and in constant consultation with them, they learn about the field, sectors and factories they want to work in, and after receiving approval, they clarify their internship locations and carry out internship studies. Our summer internship application is offered to our students between the dates determined by the school administration after our academic term has ended. All of our faculty members support our students who cannot find a place to carry out their internships. Our experienced and well connected faculty members help out students to find places to work for their internships. After graduation, we help our students as much as we can as the Armutlu Vocational School to find jobs for them. When our students consult us during the employment phase, we provide then with advice. There are many specific employment possibilities for our graduates. Students who graduated from the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program can work in control laboratories, sanitation laboratories, municipalities and private sector companies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, they can be employed in both laboratory and production units of all food-related companies. In addition, our students can establish their own companies and provide services in the fields of quality control and audit inspection. Students who graduate from the Food Technology Program can work primarily in laboratory and audit departments within the private sector depending on which skills they have developed. In addition, they can work in the public office within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and within the municipalities. Our students also have the opportunity to establish their own private businesses after graduation. Students who graduate from the Aquaculture Processing Technology Program can be employed both in factories in the processing units and in general aquaculture distribution and marketing enterprises to meet the shortage and need of qualified intermediates, especially in the aquaculture sector. They can also be employed in the public sector in the provincial and district directorates within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry or throughout Turkey with the central assignment of the ministry.
