Painting-Job Teaching

I am Associate Professor Mehtap Kodaman. I am a lecturer at Trakya University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art and Crafts Education. Our Department was established in 1996. We reside in the İsmail Hakkı Tonguç Campus of the Faculty of Education of Trakya University in Edirne. The aim of our Department is to train art educators who are qualified, contemporary, who comply with today's conditions and who try to go beyond. Our general consists of field knowledge courses, general culture courses and vocational knowledge courses. Our vocational knowledge courses are Educational Psychology, Educational Sociology, and Educational Ethics. Our field education courses are Visual Arts Teaching, Main Art Workshops, and Elective Art Workshops. We have courses such as Photography, Ceramics, Original Printing, High Printing in Elective Art Workshops. In addition to the field education courses, courses such as vocational knowledge, Educational Psychology, Educational Sociology, Educational Ethics are also offered. There are main art workshops, pattern workshop, ceramics workshop and graphic printing workshops in our department. In our department, community service practices are taught as a course in the last year and our students participate in various projects voluntarily. These can be space beautification requests of schools or public institutions. Our students can beautify that place by making a mural. Our students can take part in the library or outdoors at our university. We usually prefer them to take on an art-related assignment, and they volunteer that way. Students of our department can benefit from exchange programs such as Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi. Our department hosts many national and international organizations. It also participates in many organizations. We can give an example of an exhibition with the participation of artists from 54 countries on the World Art Day we held recently. Our students who graduate from our department generally prefer art teaching. However, they can open their own workshops, work in galleries and museums. They can also shift to sub-branches such as graphic design. Students who prefer our department are those who love art and are expected to be interested in this subject. It would be nice if they come here knowledgeable on art history, art criticism, aesthetics and applied studies. It is among our suggestions for them to read, travel and experience these. They can visit museums and galleries. They can follow online art contents. It is also useful to be aware of contemporary developments. We have a dormitory within the university that belongs to the Credit and Dormitory Institution. Edirne is a student-friendly city, which is planned for students. It is possible to reach various student societies, theatre, dance activities, sports activities such as canoeing and many more in our school. There are periods when libraries are open for 24 hours. Trakya University provides everything that the students need and help them in every way. I wish success to the candidates who will take the exam.
