Department of Graphic Arts
My name is Beyza Kocaoğlan. I am a 2nd year student at Anadolu University, Integrated
School for the Disabled, Graphic Arts Department. Anadolu University is one of the oldest
universities in our country. I am studying at the Integrated School for the Disabled, Graphic
Arts Department. Our department was established to provide undergraduate education to
hearing impaired students. Our courses at the Department of Graphic Arts cover the history
of graphic art and contemporary graphic arts. In our department, we have courses such as
Basic Art Education, Graphic Design, Typography. We have a Basic Art Education Workshop,
Typography Workshop and Print Painting Workshop. We also have computer labs where we
create applications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop programs. We graduate when we
complete our 4-year education and do our internship, which lasts for 40 days. When I
graduate from the Graphics Department, I can establish my own advertising agency, work as
a graphic designer in advertising agencies or work in the graphic departments of various
institutions and organizations. I loved to paint when I was little. I used to draw things like
dresses and houses. My family saw what I drew and liked it very much. My father wanted
me to study the Graphic Arts. I also wanted to study Graphic Arts and I chose this
department to improve my skills. Since Anadolu University is the only Hearing-Impaired
friendly school in Turkey, I chose this university. I want to find a job when I graduate and I
want to take photos. I think it would be fun to make an advertising poster. Our school is the
only school in Turkey where the hearing impaired can receive university education. Our
department admits students with a special talent exam. Students who score 100 and above
in the first step of the university exam can apply for the special talent exam. For more
detailed information, you can check our school's website. We welcome hearing-impaired
students to the Integrated School for the Disabled. I wish you success in the exam.
