Department of Sports Management

Hello, I am Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru ARAÇ ILGAR. I am the head of the Department of Sport Management and a faculty member at Yozgat Bozok University, Faculty of Sport Sciences.
Our department started to admit students in 2017 in order to train sports managers responsible for the management and administration of sports. Our students are accepted to the department with a special aptitude exam following the BPT(Basic Proficiency Test) exam. Our education and training activities continue with 450 sports manager candidates who will take part in the sports industry responsible for the management and administration of sports with the help of our expert academic staff.
In our curriculum, there are sports-based courses such as anatomy, sports psychology, sports history, and management-based courses such as general business administration, economics, management science, sports management, behavioural sciences. We have a large choice of elective courses that our students can orientate according to their interests. Our elective course portfolio is categorised as vocational elective courses, individual sports and team sports. In addition, in order to increase the foreign language proficiency of our students, vocational English courses are given for two semesters.
In their last semesters, our students apply their theoretical management skills in the application course as sports management. They carry out the sports management practice course in the central and provincial organisations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, national federations, sports clubs affiliated to federations and municipalities. Also, they can do research in their specific field of interest; they can turn these subjects into projects with the research and project course in sports management.
When our students graduate, they can be employed in the central and provincial organisations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, municipalities, local administrations, international and national federations and sports clubs affiliated to these federations. They can also perform the duties of sports managers needed by sports tourism and recreation areas. In addition, after pedagogical formation education, our graduates can teach physical education. They can have a coaching certificate by reinforcing the individual and team sports they have taken within the curriculum with the speciality course. Therefore, they can work as a coach.
Generally, we do not have any courses in which our students have difficulty. However, if our students have a problem or difficulty, we, as academic staff, are always available to help them.
Our students who are studying at Yozgat Bozok University do not have any problems in terms of transport and accommodation. In addition, our department students can use the sports facilities of our university in practical courses. Our multi-purpose indoor sports hall, indoor and outdoor artificial turf fields, indoor and outdoor tennis courts facilities are available to our students. We wish success to all our students who will enter the university exam.
