Faculty of Communication Department of Radio-Television-Cinema
Hello friends, I am Oguz Arda KAYA. I am a 3rd year student at Başkent University in the Department of Radio-Television-Cinema. The Radio-Television-Cinema Department is a department that provides professional training in these fields. They teach us these fields in a qualified way, whether it is the editing operator or the audio operator, the director, or the screenwriter. It is important not only to become a cameraman, or to become a director, in these areas, but to learn how to do them in a qualified way. For this reason, after graduating from here, together with the education we will acquire, you can turn into a qualified director, editing operator, audio operator or into a screenwriter. The Department of Radio-Television-Cinema generally gives practice-oriented courses. It gives practice-oriented courses related to short film making, photography, image editing, camera angles, lighting systems and the way to get sound. At our university generally used systems are AVIT and EDIUS. In addition to this, there are given qualified courses related to scenario applications, creative writing, language-related courses such as dictions, speaking-related and field-related courses. You will get qualified information about creative writing lessons and script applications, on how you can become a screenwriter, how to become a cameraman, how to become a fictional operator, how to organize images, how to make short films, and how to be a producer and photographer in photography courses. In addition, our university has a private channel. We can shoot using the studio of Channel B. We can also edit the images we took here in our radio-television production workshop of our university. There is no compulsory internship application in our department. However, the wishful student can voluntarily apply for his/her internship. It does not matter whether it is the university's or the department's teachers, both of them are helping us in this regard anyways. When we graduate from our department, we can work in various professions like director, editing operator, voice operator, light conductor, screenwriter, cameraman. Besides that, we can also make an academic career. Friends, later on our video another friend of mine, who is currently studying at my department, will briefly talk about the experiences he went through, while studying at this department at Başkent University.
Hello, I am Büşra YAĞCI. I study in the Department of Radio-Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication at Başkent University. The reason for choosing this department is that it has a lot of job opportunities and because it's been my dream since childhood. I think I will be able to find a job in this field. That's why I chose this department. I know that the Department of Radio-Television and Cinema is good at Başkent University. I know there are a lot of practical courses. I chose Başkent University because they offered us all kinds of opportunities. First of all, we have editing workshops. We edit the films we shot in these workshops. We make use of the shooting facilities of the Channel B. We're watching our shots. We make fictions for them together with our teachers in the studios and also make arrangements. We prepare programs in our radio workshops and present them. I am benefiting from them. After graduation, my goal is to go to Istanbul. I want to write a script. I want to go to the production companies and engage myself with scriptwriting. This is my primary goal. The first recommendation for students who will be studying in this department is to come to Başkent University's introductory days and to get the information. They will not regret studying at this university.
