Rector's Speech 2
Inonu University is a university that has created its own academic staff and provides doctoral education in approximately 180 fields and therefore trains its own people. We build a university that trains academic staff in different universities of our country. In addition, we have always brought academicians who have done their PhD abroad and completed academic studies abroad to our university, and we have sent academicians to pursue their master's or doctorate abroad from the past to the present. Our academicians who have acquired their master's and doctorate degrees in the established universities of our country also constitute an important strength in our academic staff. This, of course, shows that we as a university have a very strong staff in terms of teaching. In the next period, we will launch new institutes, and we will continue to support the academic staff. In fact, it should be emphasized that we have started to train academicians in international centers abroad and countries with international master's and doctoral students we have received from outside. This is a very important moment to take. As Inonu University, we attach great importance to accreditation in education. A significant number of our faculties and departments have received accreditation in education. Our university is accredited by organizations both in our country and abroad. Our other units are also continuing their efforts to obtain accreditation. The second important issue I would like to discuss is increasing the number of applied units to pay greater attention to the application of all associate, undergraduate and doctoral educations. We have implemented an applied education model in our university, especially with the 3+1 model in associate degree, with applications adapted to the departments in the undergraduate, with field applications and interning applications in all of our health units, and with intern engineering applications in engineering. In fact, in social sciences, we focus on the applied field with incentives such as volunteering non-compulsory internships. In our university, applied education in the undergraduate and graduate education continues significantly.Accordingly, the number of graduate and doctoral students is currently fifteen percent of all our students. In other words, 15% of all our students are graduate and doctoral students. Our goal is to increase this to twenty percent in the coming years and then to achieve higher values. Inonu University also attaches great importance to postgraduate education with the aim of a research program. The fourth subject I would like to emphasize is that all our students who have received associate, undergraduate and postgraduate education and specialization training at Inonu University have social transcripts of their education periods. This is a very important study that we want from our students. Thus, they not only obtain diplomas and transcripts of diplomas and courses obtained successfully in courses and exams, but also document their voluntary active role in social, cultural, sporting and artistic activities and their work. Our students will gain very important social qualifications when they graduate with the social transcript they will obtain by registering these extracurricular activities in accordance with the social transcript format of our university. In addition to their diplomas, we want to give them a strong social contribution and to graduate by raising them in the social, cultural, sporting and artistic fields. This is an area that we attach great importance to. We encourage all our students to take an active role in all social activities, especially in student communities. We direct our students to this. We mobilize the facilities of our entire university to them. We provide voluntary but effective participation in various activities, especially elective courses in other areas of our university, not only courses and exams related to their professional fields. These are the topics that I would like to emphasize in the education of Inonu University.
