Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts

Hello! My name is Dilşad Nur Altınışık, I am a second grade student at the Department of Architecture, the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts at Başkent University. Architecture is an art that meets the basic necessity of lodging, a discipline that science and art work together. Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture is located on Başkent University Bağlıca Campus. We have theoretical lessons, studio lessons as well as art history lessons since our department is within this faculty. To exemplify, these are courses like design studio course, the history of architecture course, computer-aided design course and so on. Each class has its own project studio, a computer lab and a model workshop. During the course of architecture education, we have to pass two internship courses, one of which will be done on a construction site while the other will be done in an office. Our finishing project is a little different; we can graduate submitting the final project of the final design studio course we have taken over eight semesters. When you graduate from this department, we can work in public institutions, offices, on construction sites and in all fields related to architecture. Another friend of mine, who is studying at our department, will briefly talk about his experiences of studying in this department of Başkent University
My name is Ekrem Çağrı Durmuş, I am a third grade student at the Faculty of Architecture at Başkent University. Architecture is a very strong and influential discipline, which can touch people in every context and determine the material and spiritual or cultural heritage that people will leave for the future, For this reason, it is very valuable. Başkent University is one of the most well-established and dynamic universities of Ankara. One point is that the Faculty of Fine Arts is actually new at Başkent University, but being new offers an advantage to the university. With its young and reinforced staff, Başkent is a very valuable university in terms of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The strongest aspect of Başkent University is the opportunities offered to us such as its academic staff and renovated studios. I make the most of these opportunities. Especially, I am thinking about concentrating on smart home technology because this has turned out to be an area which is now used for advertising purposesin Turkey; I think people should become conscious of this. Newcomer students should not forget that architecture discipline is a challenging, exacting and demanding field. If they choose this department appealingly and willingly, studying here will not be such a difficult process for them. I just want them to know that it's hard. I can say to friends who will choose BaşkentUniversity that they should know that working in a dynamic and new academic staff willprovide them with new things and that it will provide a self-sacrificing working environment. I can say that it is the right choice for friends who really want to work and want to do something. I wish success to all friends who are already going to take the test and want to come here.
