Psychology Community

Hello, my name is Tuğba Kuta from Ufuk University, Department of Psychology. I am here to introduce the Psychology Community. Our group was founded in the Fall of 2018, about 6 months ago. Our community was founded to establish a better connection between students and the department. Conferences are usually held in the Conference Hall; meetings in the cafes (for small meetings, events and meeting dinners); and larger meetings in the canteen, meeting rooms and in classrooms. Usually the students of the Department of Psychology want to become members and there are currently about 90. The most important events we have made throughout the year are the conference we have organized for ‘Dyslexia Week’. Besides this, we also organized a conference on substance abuse. We also held an interactive meeting in which we discussed the question 'What is a Young Psychologist in the Field?' In addition, we had more social gatherings: events about experiences of internships in a 'think-tank' or a ‘getting-to-know-another’ meal format. We also have meetings and social responsibility projects. The most comprehensive activity we made throughout the year was the substance abuse symposium that we organized together with our faculty. Within this symposium there was a short film show that we made both in the style of a discussion panel and a public information film. Our community is actually open to everyone, but I can say that it is 'more' open to productive people. The main requirement of our society is to attend the general assembly meetings and the meetings of the sub-groups that one belongs too. I can say that the experience of producing as a group is the best contribution the community has made to me. I wish success to those friends taking the entrance exam. I hope they can have the chance to study in the department they want, at the university they want. If they come to Ufuk University Psychology Department or to any other department in Ufuk University for that matter, we await you at our community.
