Metallurgical And Materials Engineering
My name is Ahmet Can Yılmaz. I am a senior student at Pamukkale University, Faculty of Technology, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. It is a branch of science and engineering that focuses on the processes of enrichment of precious ores found in nature. We offer different courses, including material knowledge, material production processes, material production laboratory, computer-aided technical drawing and non-computer-aided technical drawing. We have three laboratories in our faculty. In our heat treatment laboratory, we have a heat treatment furnace and glass tempering systems in place. Our second laboratory is the material analysis laboratory. In the material analysis laboratory, we have a fume hood, precision cutting device, and mounting device. Thanks to the career planning courses given in our department, the presenters from different companies provide training to students about internship opportunities and places to work. Thanks to this, students can easily arrange internships. In addition, the “Material Days” organized by our department provide opportunities for students to meet different companies and arrange internships. After graduation, they can find the opportunity to work in universities, in the iron and steel industry, automotive industry, R&D companies, glass and ceramics industry. I chose this department because of the wide range of studies and my interest in materials. The reason why I chose Pamukkale University was that I started researching Pamukkale University upon a recommendation. As I researched Pamukkale University, its surroundings, and academic staff caught my attention. For this reason, I chose Pamukkale University. Whilst studying at Pamukkale University, the facilities I benefited the most are laboratories, libraries and sports facilities. After graduation, I plan to join the academic staff and pursue an academic career by doing a master's degree. I’d like to say this to the students who will choose Pamukkale University and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department. Through this department, you can easily plan for the future. The range of employment possibilities are vast. The environment of the university is also very comfortable in terms of socializing, so I welcome you all to Pamukkale University. I welcome all candidates to the city of Denizli, which is quite beautiful. I wish success to the candidates who will take the university exam.
