Faculty Of Medicine
Hello, Sezin Sahin. I am a 5th grade student at Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine. Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine was established in 1987 under the name of Denizli Faculty of Medicine, affiliated to 9 Eylül University. It opened its own hospital in 1994. In 1996-1997, 4th and 6th graders were accepted, and from 1999-2000, it adopted a practice-based education system, that is, active education. Our faculty is located on the central campus, next to our hospital. Since we usually have applied courses, the location of our faculty and our hospital makes it easier for us students. In our faculty, 2 main branches are taught under the name of basic and clinical sciences. In the 1st and 2nd grades, basic sciences are predominant, and in the 4th and 5th grades, clinical sciences are predominant. However, due to the active education system, our courses from Grade 1 to Grade 5 are always clinically correlated. HD sessions are dominant in our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. In these sessions, we research, discuss, analyze, and finalize patient scenarios in small groups. In each of our case studies, we research topics about the new information we learn and study actively by sharing new information with each other. Apart from the fact that each graders have their own lecture hall, our laboratories are always open to students' use for studies like microbiology, histology, anatomy, and professional skills. In addition, our HD sessions are held in HD rooms. Apart from this, we also have animal experiment laboratories. Students who graduate from the faculty of medicine gain the title of general practitioner. These doctors can work in various health institutions that do not require expertise. Such as emergency services of public hospitals. Doctors who want to specialize in the branch they choose should take the TUS exam. In this way, they can work in specialized polyclinics. What was known about living things, and especially what was never known, impressed me a lot. The feeling of solving the unknown in me, combined with interacting with people and learning new things, brought me here. I want to learn, grow, and develop throughout my life: touching people's lives and healing everything I can touch. When I realized that this was the only thing that would really make me happy, I decided that I wanted to be a doctor. The score I got when choosing a university gave me a wide freedom of choice. Therefore, I had the opportunity to make a choice not according to my score, but according to my expectations from the university. Medicine is a profession that is learned not only by reading but also by seeing, hearing, and feeling. I believe that the active education system is the most successful system in this regard. In addition to education, the diversity of social opportunities in the campus made me choose Pamukkale University. Our faculty is an active education-based faculty. For this reason, I used the central library and the medical library a lot. Our instructors are always supportive. The fact that they see us as colleagues rather than students strengthens our communication. Whenever we want, they offer us the opportunity look after patients with them. Our faculty also has many clubs. I took an active role in two clubs, namely the Medical Students' Union and Medical Storm. We can also join clubs across the university. I am active in dance and nature sports club. Our university also has a sports center and a large sports complex. I use this complex and stay healthy in all that busy pace. I want to specialize in the field I will choose by taking the medical specialization exam after graduation. I want to be a good doctor who internalized the principle of “primum non nocere”. Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine is a place that follows the innovations day-to-day, offers unlimited opportunities to its students, and most importantly, aims to train good doctors. If you want to take advantage of these opportunities, learn the spirit of medicine and become a good doctor, you should definitely attend here. I wish success to the candidates who will take the university exam.
