Hello, I'm Professor Feride HAYIRSEVER BAŞTÜRK, the head of the Finance and Banking Department at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. Since the finance and banking. Our curriculum covers a broad range of courses, from general finance to legal courses related to financial markets and institutions, statistics, mathematics, and econometrics. We even have elective courses that cover topics found in the Capital Markets Board licensing exams.
Our state-of-the-art finance laboratory is currently under construction and is set to be completed before the start of the 2023-2024 academic year. The laboratory will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to support our financial analysis, technical analysis, and basic analysis courses. We also require our students to complete a 40-day internship, either in two 20-day periods or one 40-day period, after their second year of study. These internships can be completed at bank branches, insurance agents, brokerage firms, or other financial institutions, either in the Bozüyük District or in the students' respective provinces.
Our department is also committed to international collaboration, and we participate in ERASMUS studies, sending and receiving students for 6-month periods. Although the pandemic has disrupted our national events, we are planning to resume them next year. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide a well-rounded education in banking and finance, and our students have gone on to work in various fields, such as bank branches, insurance agencies, brokerage houses, and securities investment trusts.
We understand that some students may have reservations or misconceptions about our program, particularly in their first year. However, we make sure to provide all the necessary support and encouragement to help them overcome these initial difficulties. Our faculty is comprised of experienced finance professionals who are dedicated to helping our students reach their full potential. We welcome candidates who are interested in finance and have a basic understanding of financial terminology to join our program.
