Greetings students, I am Professor Filiz EKINCI, and I serve as the Head of the Department of Public Finance under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. Since 2007, we have been providing education and training in this field. Our department offers four main disciplines, including fiscal law, fiscal theory, fiscal economics, budget, and fiscal planning. We have a team of eight competent academicians, which includes one professor, three associate professors, three doctoral lecturers, and one research assistant.
Our master's program with thesis provides an opportunity for students to specialize in public finance after their undergraduate education. We offer traditional finance courses such as tax law, Turkish tax system, fiscal theory, fiscal policy, tax theory, public budget, as well as a range of courses on current issues like defense economics, treasury operations, digital taxation, and fiscal applications. Our department also offers courses from other departments, enabling students to gain competence in law, economics, and business administration.
In addition, our students have the opportunity to pursue optional internships from the 2nd and 3rd grades, and can study in many European and Asian countries through the ERASMUS and Mevlana Programs. Graduates of our department have a broad range of employment opportunities, including auditing, valuation expertise, banking, financial advisory, sworn financial advisor, SPK (Capital Markets Board) expertise, income expertise, and tax inspectorate in both public and private sectors.
We understand that some students may find mathematics and accounting courses challenging, and our competent academic staff provides all kinds of support to help them overcome these difficulties. We advise prospective students to develop a strong mathematics background, follow the literature in their field, and attend classes.
Our university is strategically located near metropolitan cities and benefits from high-speed train transportation. Additionally, we provide a range of intensive scientific, cultural, and artistic activities. Candidates coming from abroad will find our city and university an excellent choice.
