Department of Turkish Music

I am Bernis Dila Kapıcıoğlu. I am studying at the Department of Turkish Music at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. I'm a first year students. My instrument is the qanun. Our department was established to train qualified music researchers and performers. It is located in Taşlıçiftlik central campus. In our department, courses such as Piano, Music History, Turkish Music, Turkish Music Methods are given according to the instrument of the student. In our conservatory, we have a concert hall, soundproofed classrooms, instrument study classes and a computer laboratory. Graduated students generally work in TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) radios and in choirs as vocal and instrumental artists. We can also work as academics and teachers. I chose the Department of Turkish Music, since Turkish music is a style of music that I have admired since my childhood, with its maqams, methods and emotions. I chose Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University because I thought it would contribute a lot to me with its education program and professors. After graduation, I will complete my master's and doctorate studies. Then I aim to stay as an academician at our university. I recommend the candidates who will choose our university to come here for the vast campus, facilities, ease of communication with our professors, historical locations of our city and its affordability for a student. I recommend students who want to improve themselves in Turkish music to come to this department. In addition, students who want to study at our university, which has wide opportunities, can come to our university. I wish everyone success in the exam. We will be happy to see you with us.
