Nutrition and Dietetic

Hello, I am Kübra Gülsüm Oğuz. I am a 4th year student at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Gülhane Campus of the University of Health Sciences. The aim of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is to train dieticians in order to protect, improve and develop health and increase the quality of life by ensuring adequate and balanced nutrition of the society. In our department, there are courses such as Adult Nutrition, Mother-Child Nutrition, and Diet Therapy in Diseases. In addition, we take common field courses with the Faculty of Medicine. We have 3 laboratories dedicated to our department. These are the laboratories of nutritional principles, food chemistry and determination of nutritional epidemiology in the community. In order to successfully complete the undergraduate program, we have an internship in the summer term of the 3rd year. This internship is for 5 weeks. When we pass to the 4th grade, we still have internships under the name of applied courses. These internships cover the whole semester. In order to successfully complete the undergraduate program, you must write a thesis. After graduating from the department, we can work in private and public hospitals, dietician polyclinics, mass nutrition areas, public health centers and sports centers. Nutrition is very important in our daily life. We can improve our quality of life by eating healthy. This increase in our quality of life is of greater importance for people who are sick. As a dietitian, I want to teach people to eat healthy and increase their quality of life and have a positive impact on them. That's why I chose this department. After graduation, I want to work in the field of mass nutrition, that is, in the kitchens of companies that provide mass food. Too many people now eat at least one meal a day from outside. I want to ensure that people are both happy and healthy by arranging enjoyable and healthy meals by arranging the meals in the cafeterias. For students who will prefer our university, we have many clubs specific to each department in our university. Our wide campus, green areas and entertainments are well-organized. In addition, with the vast contributions of both our department and faculty members, you may have a fun and informative university life. If you want to improve yourself, you can benefit from all the opportunities of our school. I wish you all a successful educational life in advance.
