Hello, I'm Associate Professor Abdullah Yeşil, I am the director of the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences. I completed my undergraduate and graduate education at Istanbul University in 2016. In 2017, I started working at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. I am currently working in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I am working on electronic circuits and chip design. Since 2019, I have been working as the director of the Institute of Science. Our Institute was founded together with our University. It started its academic activities between 2018-2019. Currently, there are nearly 200 graduate students, 32 doctoral students, and 32 graduate students at our institute. We provide our courses both face-to-face and as LMS, that is distance education. The main research areas at our institute are science and engineering. Here, we have master's programs in 7 different fields, 4 different doctorate programs and 1 non-thesis master's degree. There are 7 different postgraduate programs at our institute and these are Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics Department, Maritime Engineering and Businesses, and Sustainable Agriculture and Food. Our doctoral programs are Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics and Intelligent Transportation Systems and Technologies. There are 18 foreign students at our institute. We also have foreign students who have graduated. While making the purchases, only the undergraduate diplomas of the candidates are taken into consideration. The undergraduate and graduate diploma grades of the candidates applying to doctoral programs are checked. If our students do not have Turkish proficiency, they can continue their education thereafter directing them to TÖMER of the university and receiving adequate instructions.
There are 59 faculty members in our institute. Our faculty members work in various faculties and Vocational Schools. Our academic staff consists of 6 associate professors, 20 assistant professors and 33 instructors. The academic staff of our institute have many studies in the fields of SCI, expanded SCI, Scopus indexes. Our graduate students are also involved in these studies. All papers published by our graduate students together with their professors are available on the website of our institute. First of all, ALES (Academic personnel and postgraduate education entrance exam) and foreign language exam scores and diploma scores are significant in the admission of candidates to the program. Then, through oral and inscriptive interviews, we test the knowledge level of the candidates and they are directed to our advisors to help them specify their areas of interest. When we go over the profiles of our graduate students, we see that some of our students progress in their careers after receiving undergraduate education and then enroll in graduate education. On the other hand, some of our candidates plan their education in a way that will contribute to their actual companies by improving their skills themselves with their work experience in the field. And thus, we become a community that includes undergraduate students working in the field. The first students that graduated from our institute led the field. In the new academic year, we plan to open new master's and doctorate programs in line with the needs of our region, thanks to the qualifications of our academic staff. And besides, we want to start distance education programs as well. We aim to bring our professors together with students from all over Turkey. We try to provide all kinds of opportunities for our candidates to support develop their careers with our dynamic and qualified faculty members.
