Hello, I'm Gizem Türkmen. I am a graduate student at Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University Health Sciences Institute. Our program is located in the central classroom of the Health Sciences Institute. Its aim is to train contemporary specialist physiotherapists who follow up-to-date information, are aware of the latest current approaches and technological developments in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and reflect this to both their clinical and academic experiences. Our program includes vocational courses, basic courses, research methodology and seminar courses in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. We have various courses specific to the program, specific to the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, current approaches in orthopedic rehabilitation, current approaches in neurological rehabilitation, and biostatistics courses. We have two laboratories. One of them is the Telepathic Exercise Laboratory and the other is the Electrophysical Agents Laboratory. There are materials and various devices that graduate and undergraduate students can use in classes. In the Master's Program with Thesis, we have to submit the thesis in accordance with the guideline determined by the Institute of Health Sciences. At the same time, we have a publication requirement before submitting the thesis from the beginning to the end of the semester. We have an obligation to publish a small sample of our thesis or a study we carried out with our advisor, at the national or international level, in the form of a full text or an article. After graduating from the department, we can work in many different fields. We can work in orthopedic rehabilitation, intensive care therapy, preventive rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, athlete health. The reason I chose the program was to benefit from the academic and clinical experiences of the professors in my own program at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Before joining the program, I did some detailed research. I chose this program in order to benefit from the vast knowledge, studies and clinical experience of its academic staff. I chose Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University because of the facilities and convenience it provides to its students. It offers graduate students an opportunity like ERASMUS. At the same time, it is a university that provides us a lot of convenience in terms of transportation, both in terms of students from the surrounding provinces and in terms of relations with international students. That's why I chose Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University.
I benefit from many opportunities while studying in this program. First of all, the academic staff of our department and the administrative staff of our institute are always open to communication. We are able to contact them very quickly. Their knowledge is very high, they are with us whenever we need them when doing research. At the same time, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University has a very nice and big library. We can check the library whenever we need for any kind of book or resource. At the same time, we have materials in the laboratory that we can use in classes, and whenever there is a shortage, the university is always there to provide them. We have a great social environment. These are the opportunities I benefited the most. I hope to enroll in a doctoral program at our university. When I started my master's degree, I did not believe that I could make much academic progress. But now I want to progress academically because of the encouraging behavior of the academic staff. I want to do my PhD and become a Doctor of Physiotherapy. Students who will apply to our program should carefully read the guide published by our institute. Necessary explanations have already been made there. Before coming, they need to obtain ALES and foreign language scores. At the same time, if they determine their areas of interest and want to do research before applying to the program, this also helps in the selection of advisors.
