Yozgat Vocational School
Hello, Prof.Dr. Hasan Güner BERKANT. I am the director of Yozgat Bozok University Yozgat Vocational High School. I am a faculty member of the Faculty of Education. Since 2021, I have been the director of our vocational high school.
The foundation year of our high school dates back to very old times. Its first official establishment was made in 1976. Afterwards, while continuing the process as Yozgat Vocational School, with the decision taken in 2015, Yozgat Vocational School was divided into two as social sciences and technical sciences. With the decision taken in 2021, it was gathered under a single roof and continues its education and training activities as Yozgat Vocational School. So far, since 1976, approximately 12 thousand 500 students have graduated.
We have 23 programmes in 18 departments. However, not all of our 23 programmes are actively recruiting students. Only 17 of them are open to active student recruitment. These programmes are; cookery, banking and insurance, computer aided design and animation, computer programming, office management and executive assistant, electrical-electronic technology, graphic design, interior design, construction technology, business management, machinery, accounting and tax applications, automotive technology, radio and television programming, civil defence and firefighting and agricultural machinery programmes.
There are 72 lecturers in our high school. In fact, although there are usually lecturers in colleges, we have 1 associate professor, 12 assistant professors and 59 lecturers.
We have 12 laboratories, 8 workshops and 2 application rooms. Due to the 3 +1 education system that we have been implementing for about 2 years, our students study for 4 semesters in associate degree programmes and participate in vocational training in various private, public, institutions and organisations within the scope of vocational training in the enterprise, which has been implemented for the last 2 years. Our students who graduate from our 17 programmes, which we have just mentioned, can find job opportunities in a wide range of fields where they can use their professional skills in various private and public institutions by gaining technical and social skills. From cookery to office management, from agricultural machinery to construction technology, they can easily be appointed in various public and private institutions within the scope of both social science and technical sciences. Since the corporate culture of our high school dates back to 1976, our administrative and teaching staff are very experienced. We have a very advantageous location, especially because of the facilities we have, the fact that we are located on a campus, very close to the city centre, even within walking distance to the city hospital and shopping centre. Due to our equipment and experience, we expect our students to prefer us. Yozgat Bozok University is a 17-year-old university. We are a young and dynamic university and at the same time, we have come a long way in terms of institutionalisation due to the breakthroughs we have made in the last few years. The opportunities we offer to our students are on a very wide scale due to the diversity of our programmes, the fact that our lecturers and faculty members are highly experienced and our academic staff is wide. Our library, campus facilities, various living conditions in our campus, areas where they can spend time are quite rich and are quite sufficient for our students to graduate from here with knowledge and skills. I recommend our candidates who will choose our university and high school to manage this process by getting to know their personal knowledge, skills and abilities. Since I am also a faculty member of the faculty of education, the preference period is a process in which very healthy decisions should be made. Therefore, they should firstly be aware of their abilities and skills. Afterwards, we expect them to make healthy decisions in choosing our and other universities’ programmes according to the decisions they will make about the life they have planned in the future. At the same time, it will be useful for them to apply to various counsellors who have more knowledge and experience in this process. I wish success to all our students and candidates who will take the university exam. We welcome them to Yozgat Bozok University and Yozgat Vocational High School.
