Swimming Team

Hello. I am Nida Eliz Üstündağ. I am a second year student at the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Başkent University. I am professionally involved in swimming. I have been involved in swimming sports for 14 years. I've been a national swimmer for about 6 years. I represented our country in Rio 2016 Olympic Games. I am also from at Başkent University swimming team. We have 4 branches in swimming: butterfly, back, frog, free. At the same time we have different distances: 50 meters, 100 meters and 200 meters. However, we also have distances of 400 meters, 800 meters and 1500 meters in the free branch. We have two different categories, 25 meters and 50 meters. The Olympics are held in 50-meter pools, Olympic pools. I am Galatasaray Sports Club sportsman. I do my training within the Galatasaray Sports Club, but I do the necessary conditioning workouts at the premises of my school. I regularly do 12 trainings a week during the course of the year. During the season there are four big age groups, including Turkish champions and national team picks. But these are not our target races directly because they are the target races in our national team races. Apart from this, we are also competitions organized by some private and federations that we represent our university. The greatest achievement I have achieved so far is my ninth in the World Junior Championships, I participated in the Rio 2016 Olympic games and I think that I represent our country successfully there, twenty-second. Our swimming team at our school is open to our licensed swimmers who have actually come to our school because swimming is an individual sport. There are no additional conditions other than this. I think swimming is has a huge influence especially on character. I do not express my feelings, especially about self-confidence and discipline. We already know that we know that people who play sports have their own values and that they have different ways of working to contribute to those values. I am trying to represent Başkent University on international platforms in this way.
