Hello, friends, I am Ecehan SOYKURUM. I am a student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Başkent University. I am in the 3rd year. Now I am going to tell you a little about my department. Electrical and electronic engineers are working on digital products and on all kinds of tests in the world, stages and all kinds of stages, and are the most important elements of the innovative world. They are the people, who are implementing the stages of all existing products, that are digitally realized into our lives and they are the people, who make the circuit designs, the circuit board and everything in it from the testing stage to the production stage, to the stage of R&D. In the first year, in order to prepare for technical courses, courses such as General Mathematics, General Physics, General Chemistry and, most importantly, Programming Courses as well as Advanced Programming Courses are given. After moving to the second year, we will be given more practical and theoretical courses, that every electrical and electronics engineer should know, such as basic circuit courses, electronic courses, magnetic courses; more technical classes are given to the 3rd year so that we can make more use of them at work; Signal, Control courses come at the top of them. In the 4th year we have technical elective courses. We can take technical elective course in any field where we want to specialize. Here we can find an opportunity to develop ourselves in such departments as communication, telecommunication or in even more diverse branches such as antennas, microwaves by choosing among them ourselves. Our labs start with the beginning of the 1st year. Generally, our general laboratories are set up to introduce us to our first physics laboratories and electrical equipment. We move to more efficient laboratories so that we can observe all these circuit theory, analysis, principles of the basic elements in electronics and the working patterns which we have learned in our classes. Here we find the opportunity to work with instruments with the help of which we can test many different circuits such as oscilloscope, signal generator as well as simulate. We have two compulsory internships. One is EM300, another one is EM400. At the end of the second year, we have an internship related to the workplace and the work life, about what an engineer should and should not do. There is also an internship in EM400 concerning the ways in which we can implement the theoretical knowledge we gained in the 3rd year, in our workplace. In this internship, we also find the opportunity to test our own knowledge. We can choose our final projects during the last semesters of the 3rd year and, if we feel a little closer to our own fields, we can suggest a project where we can develop ourselves differently in these areas. We can also choose from the projects proposed by our teachers. They have available course options. We make a choice of course and make the mid- and final presentations, same as for other courses. We manage our projects with groups consisting of at least 3 people and submit our final project. Health, defense industry is one of the most important. We can work as electrical and electronic engineers in all kinds of information, communication, technological companies. System engineering, test engineering, R&D engineer, design engineer ... All of these are in our field. Friends, later on our video another friend of mine, who is currently studying at my department, will briefly talk about the experiences he went through, while studying at this department at Başkent University.
Hello, friends, I am Mert KAYA. I am a 3rd year student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Başkent University. I had to take a variety of courses in order to move myself further into the field of electronics. These courses are under the scope of electrical and electronics engineering, so that is why I chose electrical and electronics engineering. When I researched on Başkent University, I saw it was a very long-established university. And when I looked at the teaching staff, I realized that we had really strong instructors. That's why I preferred Başkent University. Başkent University is located inside a single campus. So, it actually provides all the facilities, library, gym, labs, they are all together. There is really strong relationship between the teacher and the student. Whenever we want to ask a question, they do not turn their backs on us. Most of all, I have benefited from such opportunities. After graduating, I want to work in a defense industry-style firm and get a Master's degree. Students that would prefer the department, feel successful in the numerical field and are interested in the internal construction of any equipment can choose our department. Friends who are thinking of entering the university can visit it during the introductory days. I wish good luck to all of friends.
