Anaesthesia Program

Hello. I am Instructor Kübra Aymelek Hacıosmanoğlu, Head of the Anesthesia Programme of the Vocational School of Health Services. The Anesthesia Programme is a 2-year associate degree programme which consists of 4 semesters. Students who successfully complete 4 semesters receive the title of "anesthesia technician". Our Anesthesia Programme is located in Bağlum Campus. Both theoretical and practical courses are given throughout the 4 semesters of the Anesthesia Programme. In the first semester, we have theoretical courses such as Physiology, Anatomy, Fundamental Health and Disease Knowledge and Medical Terminology. In the second term, we have both theoretical and practical lessons. The practical aspects of our courses such as Anesthesia Applications 1 Course and First Aid Course are carried out in the Simulation Laboratory. At the end of the 2nd semester, there is also a 20-day summer internship. In the third term, our students also have courses such as Anesthesia Applications 2 and Reanimation. Students complete the practical aspects of Anesthesia Applications 2 Course in one day in our contracted hospitals in Ankara. In the 4th semester, our students take courses such as Anesthesia Applications 2 and Clinical Anesthesia. They complete their professional practice in 3 days again at our contracted hospitals in Ankara. We house a Simulation Laboratory for our Anesthesia Programme. We give our practical lessons here by practicing on the models with our students. Students who have successfully completed all 4 semesters are able to graduate from the programme. As regards to the internship, we have a 20-day summer internship at the end of the 2nd semester. It is compulsory to complete it. Our students can also do the said internship in the cities they are usually residing in. Upon graduation, our students can work in the operating rooms, pain units and imaging centres of public, private and university hospitals. Today, with the development of the health sector, the need for healthcare professionals is increasing day by day. Our students prefer this programme because they have the chance to do a double major in the Operating Room Services Programme. Yuksek Ihtisas University has competent staff members who are highly experienced in their fields. In addition, as a result of the variety in the application field, our students can reinforce their theoretical lessons. The health sector is a sector that requires sacrifice, dedication, skill and knowledge.
