Computer Programming Program

My name is Müge Vuran. I am a lecturer in the Computer Programming Programme. The aim of the Computer Programming Programme is to train computer technicians with national values who have a good command of information technologies and who are skilled in computer hardware and infrastructure. Also, who have the opportunity to make a career for themselves in the various stages of software development, design, application and analysis for general and special purposes. In general, students are given courses which they can use during the stages of special and general-purpose programme software, software development, application, design and analysis. These courses are Database, Visual Programming and Web Programming courses. We have a Computer Laboratory in our programme. Most of our lessons take place in our Computer Lab. Therefore, our students have the opportunity to practice in these laboratories. Our lessons are taught as application practices. This provides an important opportunity for students to improve themselves. Our students have to complete a compulsory internship for 20 working days at the end of the first year. The internship provides students with important professional experience. Graduates of the programme can work in their own private firms, as well as in all public institutions, internet broadcasting companies, the service sector, the education sector, the information processing departments of private companies; or in the computer network, computer software development, design, application, analysis and hardware stages as computer programmers or technicians. In addition, it is possible to transfer to departments related to the programme such as Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer and Informatics with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). Our programme offers current courses and has experienced teaching staff members. With the aid of our laboratories our students have the opportunity to practice hands on. We aim to provide not only education to our students, but also a vision and perspective. Our university is preferred due to a number of reasons. Having faculty members who are made up of experienced academicians who have had the positions of department founders or lecturers in the well-established educational institutions of our country and the young and dynamic staff members who have been trained by them are to name a few. In addition to these we can also add keeping up to date with the technology and having current lessons as reasons as to why our university is chosen by candidates. Since most of the lessons are taught in the computer labs and students spend a lot of time there after their lessons, I can say that our computer labs are the places which are used the most. In addition, students state that they are very happy that they can benefit from the experienced teaching staff at any time and have the library along with the opportunity to socialise. The aim of the students who develop themselves in the field of Computer Programming is to work in the elite companies of Turkey and to develop their own custom software. Candidates who are thinking about choosing our programme and university should do a thorough search of the technological opportunities and the teaching staff.
