Electrical and Electronics Engineering

I am Professor İhsan Pehlivan. Our Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department aims to contribute to science and technology in many different fields of electrical and electronics engineering, to train graduates with problem-solving skills and analytical thinking skills, and also to train engineers with high application skills with strong cooperation with the industry. Our Engineering Department is the first and only department that has the accreditation of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (MÜDEK). In our department, we provide general theoretical courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and introductory engineering courses in the first year. In the second year, we have main courses that form the basis of specialization courses such as Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Electronics, Electrical Circuits. Power Electronics, Communication, Electrical Machines and elective courses begin to be offered in the third grade. In the last year, as I mentioned before, there is a Graduation Study, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Design, and the 7 + 1 education model, which consists of a full-time study in industry, education and elective courses. We have 10 laboratories in our department for students to be trained in the best possible way. Courses such as Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Electronics are offered in the circuits and systems laboratory. In the electrical-electronics laboratory, courses such as Digital Circuit Design, Introduction to Digital Circuits, Electronic Electrical Circuits are taught in practice. In addition to the laboratories I have mentioned above, our electrical facilities laboratory where the Lighting course is held is also in operation. We also have a control and robotics laboratory for Control and Robotics courses. A 7 + 1 education model is applied in our department and also in our entire faculty. In this model, our students receive full-time training in companies and factories in the sector for one semester in the seventh or eighth semesters. Our university has made Erasmus agreements with many different European Union countries. In this regard, students who apply and meet the criteria benefit from the Erasmus education opportunity abroad in certain periods. Besides Erasmus facilities, there are also Mevlana and Farabi Programs that are offered to students.
Our department is very active, we go on technical trips, hold conferences and non-university related activities. Participation in the conferences of the Chamber of Electrical Engineering and symposiums of different companies are organized with lecturers and students. We partipate regularly in Teknofest, which is the Space and Aviation Fair. Sector representative seminars and interviews are held every week. Graduates of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department really have the opportunity to work in a wide range of fields involved in engineering. They can find job opportunities in all sectors related to the production, transmission, distribution of electricity: lighting, electronic machinery, power electronics, and communication. In other words, electrical and electronic engineers are employed in every part of life, from satellite to agricultural technologies, from health to biomedical technologies. Sakarya University of Applied Sciences also provides an extraordinary social environment for our students with its unique location in nature, with an educational approach that implements international standards and keeping in touch with the industry and the sector. Our students have wireless internet access all over the campus. In the central library, they can obtain the resources they cannot access from outside, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they can improve themselves by accessing them through electronic resources.
