Archery
I'm Mustafa Aydinç. I am the president Archery Society in our school. I started my education here in 2016. I am a 4th grade student at the Department of History. Although I am not considered one of the first members of our community, I took over the position of community president and I still hold this position. Our community was founded about 8 years ago. It was established to introduce traditional Turkish archery and to convey its values and teachings together with its philosophy. At the same time, it was established to spread sports activities among young people. We meet in the campus at the places we call workshops, to practice archery, where keep the materials necessary for archery. Since we are at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, we meet with friends from other faculties around the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. We came to the living center after we moved our workshop. We meet at various events in the gardens or different parts of the school. The number of our members is dynamic. We can take around 50 people in one period. It would be more correct to say that our quota is for 50 people. The number of our members can sometimes reach to 30, sometimes to 40 and sometimes even to 50. In some periods, the number may increase or decrease. We can explain this in the most correct way as follows: We provide basic education to everyone, but it is up to the people for continuing after the basic education. They go one step beyond the community in line with their work. At this level, what they can do is to represent the community at both national and international competitions, or to help new friends with the community's rules and teachings. Apart from our own basic archery training, we are doing a fundamental work to produce the materials we need. We focus on studies such as researching materials and bringing their historical functions together. While doing standard archery training, we are also exploring the competitive side of this business. In other words, we are looking for an answer to the question of how we can represent ourselves. We participate in competitions. If we look at the other activities we did within the school, we represented our school many times, especially in some festivals that we initiated. In addition, I think we have gained an important place in the school by supporting the activities of different communities within our school. Our number of members is approximately 500 and this number consists of the students of our school. As Archery Society, we take part in spring festivals. We also support the events organized by our other students. We carry out these activities during the Disability Week and in other important days and weeks. Apart from these, we give one-on-one conferences and carry out basic studies on archery. The most comprehensive activity we do as Archery Society is to represent our school in international competitions and to train students in this regard. Our community is open to anyone who will not disobey the community rules. We are open to everyone who will represent the community in a good way, adapt to sporting ethics, fulfill the requirements of the sport and respect people. Since the day I joined the community, I have developed different abilities to be able to use the basic tools of archery and to fulfill the requirements, besides improving myself in the field of archery. I discovered that I have different talents in many areas. I found myself broader fields of study by going over these areas I discovered. With this I planned a different sports career for myself. I think I have achieved important things in my sports career. We would like to see all students who prefer Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University in our community. If they want, we would like to host them and introduce them to our community.
