I'm Professor Bülent Kent. I graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law. I obtained my master's degree in Potsdam, Germany. Then I completed my doctoral thesis at Freie University in Berlin. I returned to Turkey in 2005. I worked at different universities. In 2019, I was appointed as the Dean of Social Sciences University of Ankara, Faculty of Law. I am still continuing this task. Our department was established in 2013. As of today, we are accepting 150 students. We teach thirty percent in English. We have a one-year preparatory program. We provide up-to-date law courses. We offer courses such as Consumer Law, IT Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Competition Law in English. We want to progress in this area as well. We want to prepare our students for the market in these areas. In our faculty, as in other faculties, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Administrative Law, and Criminal Law courses are offered. But our privilege from our other faculties is that we teach elective courses in English. We choose elective courses from the courses that students can benefit in the future. As a faculty, we signed protocols with various public institutions such as the Competition Authority and the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK). We send our students there for internships. When they graduate, they can become judges and prosecutors. They can also work as assistant specialists in different institutions. The advantage of our students is that they can easily pass the assistant specialist exams because they receive education in English in institutions such as the Competition Authority, Banking Regulation and Supervision Board (BDDK). Our students can go abroad with the Erasmus Programme. Most students prefer Germany. Since German Law is effective, our students in Turkey can follow German Law from the ground by going there during the 2nd and 3rd grades. We organize symposiums and conferences every year in the field of IT Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Competition Law. We will organize a Social Media and Internet Symposium in May. Next year, we want to focus on the field of Food Law. We also want to train our students in the field of Food Law. We held symposiums on current issues such as Intellectual Property Law and Construction Law. Next week we have a symposium on Construction Law, Land Registry and Land Registry Cadastre Law. There are no courses that our students usually have difficulty with. From time to time, our students fail the make-up exams. But in the make-up, they can pass the class by reading the textbooks one or two more times. To date, we have not received any complaints regarding this issue. Recently, the number of Law Faculties has increased considerably. These make it easier for students to find a job in the future, as we are a faculty that teaches in English by thirty percent and we provide education in new fields such as IT Law, Competition Law, and Intellectual Property Law. Since there are so many law schools, students who know a second language will find jobs more easily. I wish success to all students who will take the university exam. We welcome you to our faculty. Nowadays, without knowing a foreign language, the students cannot easily find a job. As a language teaching faculty, we welcome all students.
