I'm Associate Professor Hakan Demiröz. I am the director of Social Sciences University of Ankara, School of Foreign Languages. I joined Social Sciences University of Ankara in 2020. I have been the director of the School of Foreign Languages ​​since 2021. Our school was established in 2015. English and Arabic compulsory preparatory programs are applied to the students of our university. Our preparatory programs are based on modern language teaching methods at international standards. We currently have more than 1000 students. The School of Foreign Languages ​​provides academic writing lessons to our students who have graduated from the preparatory school, according to the curriculum of the department. It also provides English courses for its field. Our school offers the opportunity to learn a second foreign language among 12 foreign languages. In our school, students are provided with continuous guidance service. Our instructors provide guidance services to our students not only during their courses, but also in their social lives and to improve their English learning skills. Our college is adjacent to Ulus Square and the War of Independence Museum. At the same time, our school serves in a building that used to be the School of Finance. In our school, English and Arabic lessons are given to our students who are accepted to our university. There are departments in our university that are taught one hundred percent in English or thirty percent in English. In addition, the students of Islamic Studies Faculty, which has a thirty percent Arabic education, also receive their Arabic preparatory education here. There are 39 English Instructors and 9 Arabic Instructors in our school. 12 of our teachers are foreign nationals. We want our students to improve their speaking even more by including our teachers who speak their mother tongue in our school. Our faculty members continue their graduate and doctoral education. They also receive documents accepted as language teaching documents in international standards such as Celta and Delta. There is an independent learning center called Self Access Center in our school. The purpose of this independent learning center is for our students to organize activities outside of their classes. In these activities, it is to ensure that they can use English and Arabic languages. We aim to enable students to speak and write with confidence through writing and speaking activities. In our independent learning center, our students can do activities related to special days. Activities such as watching movies are carried out. Afterwards, they can make comments about the movies they watched. In addition, our students who have already completed the preparatory period can work there as coordinators. They transfer their own experiences to the preparatory students. There is no internship program in our school. After completing the preparation, they can participate in student exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana. Social Sciences University of Ankara is an institution located in the center of Ankara and surrounded by many historical places. It is a research-oriented university. It teaches in a foreign language and it is a university that offers a second foreign language. Considering these aspects, Social Sciences University of Ankara can be easily preferred by students who want to improve themselves in the field of social sciences. I can say that students who will choose our university will go through an intense preparation process here. I want them to know that at the end of this preparatory education, they will graduate with full knowledge of English and Arabic and will learn a second foreign language. I think that it is a suitable university for students who aim to learn a foreign language and is trained in the field of social sciences in a beautiful environment.
