Department of English Language Education

Hello, I'm Kasım Alperen Arı. I am a senior student in English Language Education at Social Sciences University of Ankara Northern Cyprus Academic Unit. The Department of English Language Education is a department that trains future educators who will be experts in their fields with a modern education approach. In addition to the education and formation courses offered in our department, there are Advanced English courses and an additional foreign language course, given in the first year. We have a Computer Laboratory, a Drama Room, and an Activity Center in our department. We have a compulsory internship program in the 4th grade. Since our university is located in Nicosia, our internship program is implemented in secondary schools and high schools in Nicosia. After graduating from our department, we can teach in both public and private institutions. We may also continue on our academic career by entering our graduate program. Teaching has been a profession I dreamed of since I was a kid. Also my interest in English increased as I grew up, so I decided to take these two together. The reason why I chose Social Sciences University of Ankara Northern Cyprus Academic Unit was the opportunity I benefited most from when I was studying in the department: being able to communicate quickly and easily with the academic staff. After graduation, I want to continue on my academic career by getting a master's degree. My advice to candidates is not to forget that teaching is a profession that requires patience. In addition, before choosing the department, I recommend reading the information about English Language Education program on the website of our university.
