TEKNOPARK
Hello, I'm Ali Ramazan TAK, the CEO of Istanbul Medeniyet University TEKNOPARK Executive Joint Stock Company. TEKNOPARK was officially established in 2018 and became operational at the end of 2020. Our employees at TEKNOPARK follow the working logic based on the triple helix model. This model consists of the university, industry, and state collaborating to produce and apply knowledge. Our goal is to generate technology, conduct research and development, and localize technology within this framework. TEKNOPARK serves as the ecosystem to fulfill this vision.
As the managing joint stock company of Istanbul Medeniyet University TEKNOPARK, we have a technology development zone spanning 70 decares in Tuzla Akfırat and a 11,500 square meter technology development zone in Üsküdar. In Tuzla, our focus areas include biotechnology, battery technology, autonomous vehicles, and robotic coding. In Üsküdar, our technology development zone prioritizes financial technology, health technology, technology in the service sector, and sustainable technology.
Currently, our ecosystem comprises thirty entrepreneurial companies, five incubators, and a total of forty-five projects as of 2023. We have successfully completed fifteen projects thus far. One notable project is the smart greenhouse automation system, which was developed and implemented within our ecosystem. This project introduced a domestic greenhouse automation software that utilizes smart coding and artificial intelligence. It enables automated irrigation, heating, and spraying tailored to the specific needs of greenhouse crops. The knowledge and expertise gained from this project are now utilized commercially.
We are committed to driving technological advancements, fostering innovation, and contributing to the development of our country through TEKNOPARK.
Within the Istanbul Medeniyet University TEKNOPARK Executive Joint Stock Company, our focus is on maintaining the highest level of academic support in projects through our established ecosystem. Specifically, we assign an academician as an academic monitor for each project implemented by our entrepreneurs. Additionally, we closely monitor university-industry cooperation by appointing an academician as an academic mentor and consultant. This approach allows our entrepreneurs to benefit from the expertise of our instructors, while our instructors gain valuable experiences.
Furthermore, we offer various incentives within our ecosystem, particularly for members of our university community. Let me briefly outline these incentives: If our academics develop an idea into a project and apply to us, we take on the role of consultancy throughout the entire process, from project application to commercialization. We handle the development and financial aspects, relieving them of these burdens. Our only requirement is for our academics to be actively involved in their projects and ideas. We take care of all administrative and financial processes within the ecosystem.
Similar opportunities are provided for our students. When Istanbul Medeniyet University students seek to commercialize an idea, they can easily do so within our ecosystem. We offer them an environment to develop their projects, provide space and budget support, and assist in producing prototypes without any charges. Additionally, we cover the costs of establishing a company and fulfill all necessary obligations when their idea is commercialized. We simply ask them to bring their ideas to the TEKNOPARK company at our university. This way, our esteemed academics and students gain valuable industrial experience.
TEKNOPARK is open to all academicians, students, and entrepreneurs who are interested in national projects and wish to engage in research and development. Our goals include completing 750 national projects by 2026, reaching 125 entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial companies, supporting 75 incubation entrepreneurs, achieving an export value of 750 million dollars, and obtaining 100 intellectual and industrial property rights, utility models, and patents by 2026.
To all candidates preparing for the university entrance exam, I extend my best wishes for success. We eagerly welcome each and every one of you to the Istanbul Medeniyet University TEKNOPARK Ecosystem.
