Computer Technology Programme

Hello, my name is Gülşah Arslan and I am a senior student in the Computer Technology Programme, which I will now introduce to you. The Computer Technology Programme is located on the İncek Campus. In this Programme, we are usually taught about the developments in algorithms, software and computer technologies. We have the right to advance onto Engineering Faculties with the Vertical Transfer Exam. So, after completing this programme, we can take the Vertical Transfer Exam and move to the 4-year engineering department. As I said, there are many courses in our programme such as software, algorithms, e-commerce related to artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. We have 3-4 computer laboratories, which we use actively. We take courses such as Network Fundamentals and Internet Programming there. In our programme, we have the opportunity to undertake summer internships in the first year. However, I chose to take a course instead. In other words, we have such a choice. We do not necessarily have to do internships and can choose an internship course instead—I took a course in Project Management in Software instead of doing an internship. In this course, I learned about project management—designing projects and using various applications and software. After graduate from this programme, we have the opportunity to work as a technician in the public sector. Most importantly, we have the right to pass to 4-year engineering departments with the Vertical Transfer Exam. The reason I chose the Computer Technology Programme was that while I was researching during the preference period, I found out that this programme had good job opportunities. The reason I chose Ufuk University was because, in terms of a Computer Technology Programme, I decided that the education here was better than at others. While studying in this programme and in this university, I have benefited most from the campus life, the social activities and the computer labs. After graduation I would like to take the Vertical Transfer Exam and switch to a 4-year engineering program. My advice to those friends who choose this programme is that they should only choose this programme if they are interested in, and have an affinity to, this field. My advice to friends coming to Ufuk University is to benefit from the social life on this campus. I wish success to those friends taking the entrance exam.
