First and Emergency Aid Programme

My name is Bahadır Asaf Özbudak and I am a sophomore student in the First Aid Programme. The aim of the program is to train qualified personnel who are careful, who are able to produce solutions in a short time, who can give emergency care and who can communicate effectively with the patient and their relatives in a professional manner—prior to the hospital, in the home of the patient or the injured, during transportation, in the ambulance, until their arrival at hospital. We receive our education/training at the Balgat Campus of our university. In our programme, basic medical courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pharmacology are given. The second year is weighted towards our internship. In addition, we have our vocational courses such as Emergency Health Services, Emergency Patient Care, Resuscitation, Professional Practice, Advanced Life Support. The students take their applied courses in the laboratories of the university. Clinical training is provided in the emergency units and ambulances of the hospital. There are 30 working days during the summer internship in this department. The students can undertake their internships in the well-equipped health facilities and in the 112 Emergency Departments in shifts, upon request. Also, if they so wish, students may complete a summer internship within the university, in the Dr. Rıdvan Ege Hospital. Our graduates can use their emergency medical techniques in 112 services, air-sea ambulances, patient transport ambulances, and in the triage and emergency units of public and private hospitals. I graduated from the Department for Emergency Medical Technicians in high
school. I chose this program because it is a continuation in my field. The reason I opted for Ufuk University is that it is a university with high-quality academic staff, it has a central location and its own hospital. Then we had the opportunity to practice in the emergency units of our hospital. After graduation, I want to work in patient transport ambulances. I took my first step into my future life with a university that has proven itself in both social and educational terms. Later, I had the opportunity to benefit from our libraries and sports halls in the İncek and Balgat Campus. I can say to those who are considering their universities to choose Ufuk University, without hesitation. I wish every success to my colleagues taking the entrance examinations.
