Health Institutions Management Programme
Hello, my name is Hanife Üstünkardeşler and I am a first-year student in the Health Institutions Management Programme. I am here to present this program to you. The Health Institutions Management Programme is located on the Ufuk University, Incek Campus. It is a 2-year program—a concentrated version of the 4-year Healthcare Management Department's curriculum. We take all courses related to management. The courses we take are as follows: Accounting 1 and 2, Basic Law, Labor Law, Social Security Law, Health Services Marketing, Healthcare Management, and also -as general knowledge- Turkish Language and Literature, Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution. The Computer Technologies course is given in the Computer Laboratory. In order to graduate from our programme, we have to complete an internship of 30-workday or a project at the end of the first year and the second year. We are able to work as administrative staff in foundation hospitals, as well as public or private hospitals. I chose this department because I want to work in management in private hospitals, in foundation hospitals and in clinics. Following the advice of my friends, I chose Ufuk University. I made use of the social environment of the university while studying in this programme and I have made many friends from this programme and from others. After graduation, I would like to be a manager of my own clinic or in a private foundation hospital. As a recommendation to friends who might choose this programme: first of all, they should come only if they see themselves as being executive staff or if they really want to be in this programme. I wish success to those taking the entrance exam.
