Department of Information Technology
Hello friends, I am Safak Bulut, a 4th-year student at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in the Department of Technology and Information Management, and I am doing a double major at the Faculty of Law. Today I'm going to tell you about the Department of Technology and Information Management. The Department of Technology and Information Management was established in 2011 and has the feature of being unique in Turkey. By taking the basics of the courses from the Department of Business Administration and by giving more emphasis to areas such as research, innovation and entrepreneurship that have become important in recent years, it is a department that supports them with information technologies. Generally given courses are management-oriented and information-oriented ones. Management-oriented courses are the courses such as R&D management, information management, technology management. Information-oriented courses include programming languages and databases. There is no compulsory internship, but we have the opportunity to do it, depending on our desire. In the private sector, we have the opportunity to work in research and development centers, while in technoparks, we have the opportunity to work in the information and communication fields. Friends, later on this video, another friend of mine, who studies in the same department, will tell you about the advantages of this department.
Hello, my name is Mustafa Bugra Chigdem, I'm a third-year student in the Department of Information Technology. I preferred this department because I believed that I would have great opportunities in finding a job in many fields that were open to qualified employees after the completion of the undergraduate program in the Department of Technology and Information Management. Before entering the university entry examination, I had already planned to study in Ankara. After I entered the exam, according to my research, I noticed that the probability of finding a job in this department was high, and I preferred Başkent University. When I studied at my department, I mostly used the library, transport services and the university laboratories. Especially, when I was being assigned some research assignments and presentations, the computer room in the university library was very useful for completing my research, in case I could not bring my own computer. After graduating from the university, I am thinking of trying to improve myself as much as possible by firstly working in the private sector and, subsequently, of finding a job in the public sector by preparing for the KPSS exams. I would recommend to my friends that they come to the introductory days of our university. After that they can observe the work of our department via our social networks. Başkent University will satisfy prospective students both socially and in terms of education. I wish good luck to all of the prospective students, thinking of coming here.
