Department of Management Information Systems

My name is Bilge Kağan Koç. I am a fourth year student in the Department of Management Information Systems. Management Information Systems mainly focuses on the fields of Business and Computer Engineering. Information systems receive different information from different branches in a company and helps organize that information in areas like: Human Resources, Finance, and Sales and Marketing. The information collected from all branches are managed as a whole. Generally, courses in general management and computer engineering are given. In field of Computer Engineering, we take courses like; Web Programming, PHP, Database, Desktop Programming, and C # and C ++ tutorials. We also take web design courses. We create a website from scratch and encode it with HTML and CSS. In the management section of our studies, we take courses in Human Resources, Statistics, Business, Finance and Numerical Analysis. Our school has several computer laboratories that we can use. These laboratories also include our Visual Studio and our Adobe Dreamweaver programs. With these programs, we can create different desktop programs and design different websites. There are two internships in the Management Information Systems Program. At the end of our 3rd year, we have a summer internship. It normally lasts around 30 days. Our second internship begins the last semester of our 4th year. We learn about the institutional culture in businesses and we can get to know our profession better. When I graduate from this department, I want to go into System Administration and begin to improve my skills in the technical work. I would like to work for big corporations in the Defense Industry. I would like to continue my career as a manager. This section mainly works in the field of information. Here you can gain the knowledge you need to work in the fields of System Administration and Project Management. You can also work in the field of information, system analysis and design. You can learn how to install, design, and manage different systems on your own. Another friend of mine will briefly talk about their experiences as they have studied here at Başkent University.
is Nihan Baksı. I am studying in the Department of Management Information Systems. I chose this department because of the courses and the certificate I got in Web Design. I discovered that this subject really interested me and was similar to my other experience and training. I thought that I was going to do something in the future in Web Design. I knew that Başkent University is one of the most-established universities in Ankara and has one of the best reputations for being the best in this field. I also take advantage of the different clubs and groups on campus too. There are many different groups and clubs in our school. I participate in the Radio, Dance, and Theater Groups. But, my favorite group is the Business Group. They organize lots of conferences and bring important people together. I have earned a certificate in my field through this group. I believe this group will help me advance in my career in the future. One of the greatest possibilities for us is to own our projects and assignments and use them for our future careers. The libraries are generally quiet and calm. To use for our working environments, our libraries are the best places. I see myself pursuing a career in the fields of Web Design and System Analysis Design. That is why I chose to come here. I highly recommend our school to anyone that wants to study our field. If you want to do web design or write code, then I think you should choose our department. Why should someone choose Başkent University? Başkent University is always keeping itself up to date in every sense. I believe this is your best choice.
