Hello, my name is Chaimae. I am a first year student at Yozgat Bozok University, Department of Architecture. I am from Morocco and I came to Turkey in 2021 to study architecture.
A friend of mine is studying at Yozgat Bozok University, she told me about this place and that's why I chose this university.
Before I came to Turkey, I was very scared, I didn't know what I would face. After I came here, I was very pleased. My professors were very good and I met new friends, so my thoughts changed a lot.
When I was a child, I wanted to study architecture very much. I did not have the opportunity to study in Morocco, but I came to Turkey with my mother's application. Now I am very satisfied.
I was not a social person before I came to the university. I met new friends. My friends and I usually have coffee and sit with our professors. I did not have many friends in Morocco. After I came here, I made many friends, so I am very happy.
I had a lot of problems when I first came to Turkey. My friend Ali and I had problems with housing and the inadequacy of our Turkish, but our teachers at TÖMER (Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center) helped us a lot. They were really supportive about this issue.
Our professors at the university help us a lot with our education. We are foreigners. Our professors also help us when our Turkish is not enough. So I am very satisfied in general.
When we first came to Turkey, we had a meeting party and conversations with our professors. In the company of our professors, we go to cafes and live music to improve our Turkish with our foreign friends.
I don't know much about the cities in Turkey but I have been to Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya. I can say that Istanbul is a very crowded city. It is suitable for sightseeing or traveling. But Yozgat is a very quiet place to work and study. You can focus more on the lessons. That is why I preferred Yozgat.
If you are coming to Yozgat Bozok University, I can recommend the following; focus on your lessons, study hard and always establish a good relationship with your professors. This will make it easier for you to live in Yozgat.
I am very pleased with the education here, but I plan to continue my education in another country after my undergraduate degree. I wish success to my friends who will take the university exam. We are waiting for you all at Yozgat Bozok University.
