Distance Education Application and Research Center

Hello. My name is Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Tuncay SARITAŞ. I am the director of the Distance Education Research and Application Center at Balıkesir University. Our center was established in 2009 to carry out associate, undergraduate, undergraduate completion, and graduate programs in the field of distance education and training through information and communication technologies. The studies of our center are structured to provide services to our faculty members and students. The center enables our students at the undergraduate, associate, and graduate levels in our vocational schools and faculties to pursue their education through distance learning methods. In addition, in-service training activities continue for both our students and faculty members. We also provide distance education consultancy services to institutions, organizations, and companies. Moreover, our center carries out activities within the scope of European Union projects and international relations. Our research center serves all units of our university. This includes our Student Affairs Department, our student automation unit OBS, faculties, and the students studying in departments within the faculties who have been benefiting from our activities, especially with the recent impact of the pandemic, through hybrid education in distance education. Additionally, our center provides support in various forms, such as thesis defenses and thesis activities, for our continuous education center or our foreign language school, as well as our institutes. We are conducting interactive and communicative activities. We are in coordination with all units. Our goal is to provide our students with the highest level, quality, and efficient education and instruction. To achieve this, we aim to offer our students a quality education at the desired level by utilizing evolving technologies, digital solutions, and innovative activities. We expect our students to visit our website to familiarize themselves with distance education activities. Our university has a learning management system where they can learn how to access their courses, obtain login credentials, and navigate the platform for their education. These are important aspects for us because our university provides various assessment and evaluation systems, as well as rich digital content materials on this platform for our students. Therefore, if needed, we encourage them to contact our center through the WhatsApp communication line we have established to receive support and guidance on utilizing our learning management platform. In fact, at the beginning of each academic year, we provide online training sessions for our students to become familiar with our learning management system. We recommend that they participate in these training sessions to become acquainted with the assessment and evaluation systems, as well as the digital content materials available through our learning management system, as we believe it is essential for our students.
