Language Education Application and Research Center

Hello friends, I am the director of the Language Education Application and Research Center of Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University, Lecturer Bünyamin Oguz. As the directorate of Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University, the Language Education Application and Research Center (DILMER), we offer courses in Turkish and other needed languages to foreign nationals in Ankara, especially international students who come to our university. The Language Education Application and Research Center is established under the university rectorate and has certified around 2000 students since 2014. Our center offers courses related to teaching Turkish to foreigners and teaching English, Arabic, French, Russian, Italian, German and Chinese. We offer not only Turkish teaching or foreign language teaching courses, but also programs for training teachers such as certificate programs for teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Almost all of the academicians working in our center have completed their master's or doctorate degrees in this field. Some of these academics also have international experience. The certificates given in our center has international validity. Turkish proficiency exams requested by institutions and organizations such as World Health Organization, Foreign Turks and Related Communities are administered by our center throughout Turkey. As a result of our studies, foreign nationals are employed in various positions such as the Health Ministry's Health Project and can work as patient referral specialist in hospitals based on the results of these exams. Our priority is the international students who want to get education in Turkey. In this context, we accept anyone who wants to learn Turkish at the associate degree, undergraduate or graduate level. In addition, we also offer separate courses for adults, women and children in our children's groups, evening groups or general Turkish groups. Our students come mainly from the Turkish Republics, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, America and various countries around the world. In this sense, so far, we have certified over 2000 students from nearly 110 countries around the world. Our university is already one of the leading universities in Turkey with its international student ratio of 10%. In near future, we intend to organize Turkish courses for employees of international institutions and organizations, embassies, especially because of the central position of our center, we also plan to teach Arabic, English, French, Russian and other languages in even more different environments in accordance with their demands. In addition to all these languages, we also plan to teach Ukrainian and Urdu languages that Turkish citizens will need abroad. It is a real privilege to be a student at Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University Language Education Application and Research Center. We do not approach those who want to study here as just an educational center. First of all, we are a big family as the Language Education Application and Research Center. We carry out acceptance and registration of students who wish to take courses in Turkish or other languages with certain documents such as passports and acceptance certificates. We also provide all materials and books free of charge. We make effort to teach the language, especially Turkish, in real life through the social and cultural activities which we carry out every month. We don't leave our students to their own devices after graduation especially with their problems related to Turkish; we support them with additional courses such as Academic Turkish and Spoken Turkish. As director of the Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University Language Education Application and Research Center, my advice to international students when they come to Ankara, is that they should research Turkish courses and the centers where Turkish taught academically well. They should be careful about that the course should not just a training center; should be a school and a family where they can learn that language and can get a certificate which allow them to be accepted by international institutions and organizations and all universities in Turkey. As a state university, we are pleased to say that our certificates are valid everywhere. Finally, our advice to all students is: They had better to prefer Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University and contact the Language Education Application and Research Center for language education.
